Fillup and FourT2 - if you look at the description of the charging adapter (here: Scosche passPORT Charging Adapter for iPhone 3G - Apple Store (U.S.)) it says the adapter is needed for the iPhone 3G, fourth-generation iPod nano, and second-generation iPod touch.

I'm guessing that all ipods besides those should work fine with the system in the car.

Ok thanks, I think I will just get an IPod classic if I can find a good deal for one.

just an FYI. I have a first gen ipod touch. It charged in my 08 G but will not charge in my 09 G with out the adapter. It was a bit weird.

I have a 3rd generation iPod Touch. It doesn't charge either.

Agreed, especially if you can potentially save a few hundred or thousand dollars by buying an earlier model. The 2010 will have the most cosmetic changes thus far (mainly internal), but nothing extraordinary.

If one were to have a video bypass done for the nav screen, then hooked the ipod up to the ipod jack. Could you play movies or videos off the ipod through the car and on the nav screen?
