The sport package on the X's is just an appearance package. No sport brakes, suspension or steering. I had an 08xS and like it.
I'm not a fan of the coupe. I have a family and use my backseat a lot.
I have no patience, and those electric seats sliding back and forth to let people out of the back would drive me insane.
Also the sedan is more of a sleeper to law enforcement. I do a lot more speeding now unnoticed compared to my 02 WRX Wagon.

I had no issues with the regular suspension on my 08xS. For street and highway use it was great. If I still had my xS and the only thing I might considered upgrading would probably be the brakes. I don't think you can add the quicker ratio sport steering though. But for street use the stock brakes and suspension of the xS were fine.
Here's the complete list of items included in the X sport package.
* Split 5-spoke 18 x 7.5-inch aluminum-alloy wheels with 225/50R18 all-season performance tires (front/rear)
* Unique front fascia and side sills
* Solid-magnesium paddle shifters
* Front sport seats with manual thigh extension and driver's power torso and thigh support adjustment
* Unique sport stitching on steering wheel and front seats
* Aluminum pedals and footrest

The sport seats are great, but not everyone finds them comfortable.

Sports seats are 1000% better than stock seats. Came from a 06 G35 6MT with standard seats and felt like I was sitting on a bench.
I require AWD now so had to get the xS. I like it but would have purchased a G37 6MT over the xS in the blink of an eye if I didn't have to deal with snow. Stiffer suspension, quicker steering and better brakes seal the deal. With that said, I do believe that I drive the best performing AWD sedan available for under $50K so don't hesitate buying an xS if you require AWD. You will have a blast.
