Hard to drive .. uh.. slow

This is basically the first car I've had with decent low-end torque, and I find it hard NOT to mash the gas and feel that torque at every light... the engine sound is exhilarating and the way it rips through gears is just too fun... there is so much personality to this car.

with my 2k4 Tl .. there was no low-end so it was easy to baby it...

how do you guys/gals drive the new '37?

Fairly quickly. If I had wanted to drive Prius style, I would have bought one.

My concern is that I will wear out the rear tires, and I don't do any gratuitous burnouts or anything... just pull away quickly. I find the 6mt encourages quick accelleration from stoplights.

If this is a concern, toss about 700lb in the trunk. Should help bring back memories.

If I do wear out the tires, at least I will have had fun. Kind of like paying to see a movie...

that's the one thing (well, among others) that i don't get to do in the AWD .. can't peel out, can't fish the back end...

i got a question for the RWD guys... when you turn VDC off, and just mash on the gas (7AT), how long do the rear wheels peel out for?

You'll spin 1st and 2nd, and chirp 3rd (assuming 7AT)

I have the 6mt sport,,, you can peel a long time if you want in 1st, not much in 2nd if the road is clean.

What's temping is to push the back a bit in corners. With DSC on, you can't really get yourself into any trouble, but have a bit of fun.

low-end torque? That's something this car is greatly lacking. The only way to get the power is to rev up to about 8000

People feel CHANGE in power output. This car is just so smooth that the change is smooth

My honda put less than 120 ft/lbs to the wheels, but I can guarantee that at high RPM, I can make your neck snap back if I goose the throttle.
