I have a 09 g37s coupe which I bought 2 weeks ago. Love the car but this noise is making me go crazy. Took it back and they can't hear it, called Infiniti and they said just take it back. My car has 29000 km (I live in Canada)
Any suggestions on what I can do? The dealer thinks im annoying, I even tried explaining its the ECM and directed them to this site, but they said they will call tech line and let me know.
Any help would be appreciated

not sure if this helps anyone with this issue, but i removed my scoshe ipod charger connector and the noise completely went away. this whole time i thought it was the ecu like others have mentioned.
does anyone else have this issue and not using a scoshe charger? or maybe a different brand of ipod charger?

I wanted to let everyone, who has this issue, know that sound is caused by the ECM. I had to take the vehicle to the dealer three times for for them to acknowledge/fix the issue. I noticed that it is mostly heard around 2000 rpm. It usually is heard as soon as the accelerator is depressed and does not go away until the vehicle is turned off. Very annoying for those that have the issue and can actually hear it.
The first time I took it to Infiniti the tech heard it and they said it was fixed after the ECM update they completed. Not the case. I wrote a not so nice review in their " post appointment survey" and got phone calls shortly after asking how they can help. The second visit was with the service manager who sat in the car with me. I downloaded an app for my iPhone called SpectrumView (free) to SHOW him the frequency while I held the throttle at 2000 rpm. After he visibly saw the frequency, I told him Infiniti tech support needed to be called and a countermeasure part for the ECM was needed.
Long story short, the service manager called me back the same day and said he "finally got a hold of someone who knew what I was talking about". He told me there was a countermeasure part (new ECM) and it would take a few days to receive because there were only four of these parts available in the country. The factory ECM was replaced with part number 23710-1ND7C. The "C" at the end of the part number indicates countermeasure. This fixed the issue for me and all work was completed under warranty. No more annoying sound!

Follow-up!
So I meant to do this months ago, but I had my ECU replaced once the dealership employee acknowledged the high-pitch sound. After keeping my car for a week or so, they replaced the ECU. The sound has not been present since then!

I have a 2009 G37S that I recently purchased that has this exact problem. I originally thought it was the radio. But it did it even with the radio off, the noise is definitely coming from the passengers side vent.
I have an appointment on Monday for the dealership to take a look. Hopefully it's a well known problem now and I won't have to keep taking the car back to get it fixed. I don't usually like to try and tell them what the problem is up front, but are there any TSBs I can reference?
Thanks!

They just fixed my FX50S 2012. The problem is the ECM. They replaced my ECM and used a special insulation around it. Not sure if its the ECM or insulation fixed the problem. But either way I cant hear it or measure it on the FREE Spectrum View App for I phone. I could do both before. As for your car they do make a counter measure ECM. I would recomend them install that and us the "thinsulate" they used on my car.
I am sure that should fix the problem. I have attached the spectrum view of my sound in my car. Its the signal near 11 on the bottom Scale.
