Just rebadge your 35's to 37 and you're good to go!

Yeah I know, but this barely counts as a mid-cycle refresh, let alone an all new car design. I work for a supplier, so I see these types of jobs done on all of the Big 3 (or little 3 these days) pre-production cars. But this by far is the lamest attempt to "camo" the badge.

ANYHOO, I don't like the wheels or the rear spoiler. It kinda looks like the 03-04 coupe spoiler with the flat bill shaped wing. Doesn't flow with the curvy body of the new design. There are better ways to cover up the chrome lip so many ppl tend to complain about...

The sedan has always been faster than the coupe for 3 main reasons, based on basic physics:
  1. The sedan has had smaller/lighter wheel/tire packages. This means less rotational weight to spin up and move around.
  2. The sedan has had smaller/lighter brake packages (rotors). This means less rotational weight.
  3. The sedan has a lower coefficient of drag, which means it is easier to push through the air.

No matter what emotion tells you, or what you want to believe, when you have 2 vehicles with the same power output and the same gearing, but one is lighter, slips through the air easier, and has less rotational mass, then it will accelerate faster. Period.

Now that the sedan and coupe will have the same engine, the sedan will most definitely be faster unless Infiniti neuters the power output to protect the coupe. But they won't, because the sedan is the bread and butter, and it needs to keep up with the 335i sedan acceleration.

The new sedan might gain 40 pounds or so, due to the bigger engine and upsized brakes, but will still weigh at least 100 pounds less than the coupe. It will be faster. Period.

Very true. Also, the Sedan doesn't complain when you put things in the rear.

Coupe = lower center of gavity = huge plus in handling.

you realize the rotors and brakes are free right? rotational mass has nothing to do with the brakes or rotors since they dont move

4 piston calipers heavier than std.......depending on diam and thickness of rotors has an effect on steering and static weight

Hardly lower, if any. Most of the coupe's additional prowess are from more sporting tires and a firmer suspension.

Take a coupe and sedan, spring them the same, same drop, etc... the sedan might outhandle it. Especially considering the lower weight.

Massive brake calipers don't add (static) weight to a vehicle?

And rotors don't move? Spin? And pivot around the steering spindle?

I actually liked the 4-door look of the 07 G35. If it wasn't the fact that the G35 didn't have the bigger engine and better brakes, I might have gotten a 4-door G instead. When my lease is over with my current 05 G35, I might consider a G37 Sedan as a replacement.
