Historically, our G37S 7AT has never really returned fantastic mileage. However, nor does it drop as precipitously when I hammer on it, as with previous cars. It's normally driven strictly around town, with much less freeway use these days. If I really drive mellow, I can get it stick around 19mpg. This is here in Cali, with our 91-octane **** fuel.
When I drive really hard, it drops to a fairly consistent 15-16. Pretty decent.

In my experience gas mileage peaks in the spring and fall. Wintertime, you use gas to warm the car up, and they use the crappy winter blend. Summertime mileage gets killed by A/C. Also obviously depends where you live; I imagine people in the PNW getting better gas mileage all year as it's so temperate.

It was a primarily highway trip to visit a buddy to go fishing for the weekend. It was just me in the car with two coolers, a couple rods and a weekend bag. AC was on for 90+% of the trip and temps were low to mid-80's. Total covered was 502 miles for 17.62 gallons.
For reference, I average about 22mpg all the time with my normal driving mix. On a couple fill ups I've gotten around 25 for tanks that were more heavily highway.

That's stellar. The most I've been able to muster up on highway road trips is 27.5 mpg
Been driving my 2012 G37 Journey for 16 months now. Averaged 27.5 on a 400 mile highway trip cruise control set to about 75 mph. Almost all flat and back in Houston's "Spring", but about 400 lbs of people/stuff so pretty good. For the Summer been doing 70/30 city/highway and hovering around 20 with an average foot and the occasional "slip" (AC isn't not an option during Houston summers). Computer is impressively precise...always within .2 of actual mpg.
Looks like the FE gauge in the cluster has been consistently about 10% low. That sucks... that means I'm lucky to break 19 MPG. In my Z I was able to do about 20 MPG on the same commute... I suppose that's a fair tradeoff for 50HP and 500 more lbs.
I typically run my tank to near E and fill up about 18 gallons.
Before tune, I used to get about 18 MPG.
After ecutek and ark I'm getting about 12 MPG.
How normal is this? I'm getting like 200 per fill up. I do 85% city driving. My driving habits have not changed that much since tune. I thought it was me at first, but I've been keeping notice for over a month now.
All I do is city driving, here in Chicago. No freeway at all. All local streets, about 75 miles a week.
I did an experiment - half a tank of gas driving slowly, never above 3,000 RPM on accelerating from a stop. Got 12 MPG.
Then, half a tank driving calmly but using DS mode, often accelerating very briskly away from stops, etc. Having some fun, at least as much fun as you can have driving around on city streets- I mostly drive at night when streets are not very crowded.
So, this second tank of gas: 12 MPG. No difference at all.
I think I should be getting better mileage, though. A little bit better- 14? 15?
2013 G37x 4dr has 41k on it, I got it with 38k last fall. I have yet to replace plugs or air cleaner filters. That might help.
