MPG = miles per (divided by) gallons
Fuelly requires entry of data in this form and offers a much larger sample size so provides a more reliable indication of averages.

Last fill up on 9/25 I drove 308 miles since setting the odometer to zero and the tank took 12.58 gallons to fill up. 308/12.58 = 24.48 MPG
I took this photo after filling up just before doing a reset on the screen

just drove from ohio to florida and was able to go 513 miles on 18.8 gallons so basically averaged 27.2 mpg....all highway and did 80mph the whole way basically...wanted to get past the 500 mile mark on one tank which is a lil bit scary since the car pretends to be empty with two gallons left

MPG is affected by temperature, humidity, barometric pressure even with driving with a light foot.
The killers to MPG are stop and go traffic, frequent restarts, short trips and flooring the throttle.
My 66 VW Beadle had a 48 hp engine and I averaged 25 MPG. It is amazing that I can get the same results with my 300+ hp G37S

Hey Telcoman...I noticed in your signature you are using 87 octane......did Nissan/Infiniti change something with our engines? My car is labeled to use high octane 91 or higher. Just curious.....

Not according to the inverse square law as applied to wind resistance.

It is just me not believing what they wrote and saving thousands of dollars by using regular 87 octane.
A little history
1988 Mazda 929 5 speed manual. 210,000 miles over 14 years. Owners manual recommended premium, I used regular
1992 Lexus ES300 5 speed manual. 110,000 miles over over13 years. Owners manual recommended premium, I used regural
2006 Infiniti G35 6 speed manual 171796 miles over 6 years. Owners manual recommended premium, I used regular.
2012 Infiniti G37S 6 speed manual. currently at 25k miles. Owners manual recommends premium, Never put a drop of premium in it thus far. Runs just like new.
I think my 1974 Mazda RX4 rotory engine also recommended premium and in the close to 200k miles I only used regular in that vehicle also.
I'm sure I've driven over one million miles during my lifetime and never used premium gasoline. Never had a problem using regular despite what some others believe in the marketing hype and false information that helps make the oil companies and gas station owners very wealthy.
There are a few other infiniti owners using regular but they don't put the fact in their signature as they fear of getting bashed and flamed as I do by others that are less informed.

Good Morning,
I had posted a few months back that I was getting 19 MPG...well, about a month ago I started getting 24.7 consistently. It just went up automatically after my husband changed the oil, filter, and added the gas treatment on a full tank of gas. A month later, it is still happening. Strangest thing but so glad it happened.

6MT has the winters on now (X-ice 2), got 30mpg+ on a 500mile interstate trip. About 2mpg better for a 100% highway ride than with the Michelin Pilot SS's on.
PSS Rears had 0 tread left and one had developed a leak, so had to make the switch given the time of year. Fun driving season over.

This last weekend went camping with my son, and drove a total of 270 miles (back and forth) mostly all was highway. This was the aggregate I got:
But even more impressive, was the initial MPG from home to camp (about 130 miles, again all highway):
That nearly 30 MPG has been the best I have gotten so far

Driving easterly, 90km, on the 401 to Toronto today. There was a +60km/h tailwind and it made a difference.
At 105 km/h and used 7L/100km. Thats about 33.6 US MPG, 40.3 UK MPG. Crazy.
Best I normally get (hwy) is 26-28 US MPG, usually at a speed around 115 km/hr. Typ city driving is 19 US MPG.
