Can you expand upon the oil/gas mileage comment? What kind of oil did you use? I LOVE the car but I'm a little surprised at the poor gas mileage. I'm not complaining since I love the power but even when I feather the gas and don't drive it hard at all, the mileage is just not strong.

Just and update, my computer AVG MPG now ready 21.1mpg with stop and go traffic.

Mine sucks. Brand new 1250 miles. Not driving stop and go but slowing for round abouts, etc. Going easy on my starts and I am getting 16 mpg. BOOOOO

i think our bad gas has something to do with this poor mpg but on the bright side we pay 0.16$ per liter

I get 24+ with about 50/50 city/hwy driving. And that includes my unavoidable urge to "stand on it"

I get about the same but earlier this week I got the best mileage on my 50 mile trip to work after a fillup.



I've been making the same trip for years but on this particular morning the temperature was 63 degrees and the humidity was 37%.
Seemed like perfect conditions.

Wow Telcoman those are some amazing mileage numbers. My G37xS sedan usually gets around 15 mph around town and just today got 24.8 mph on the highway. The Infiniti dealer gave me a loaner yesterday (a 2012 G37x sedan) which gave me over 28 mph. I've never gotten mileage near that good on my 09 G xS sedan although I must confess to having oversize tires on it which must hurt my mileage. I really wonder how accurate the computer is that comes up with these numbers, there seems to be so much variation between Gs.

How do you get to the screen which shows the Fuel Economy history shown above.

I've been through the 267 page/15MB Nav manual, but cannot seem to find any instructions on how to get to this screen.

Note that I am not resetting the Nav everytime I fillup, just the odometer. I'm thinking that I should be resetting the Nav as well in order to see this screen.

You press the "Info" button on the center console and then touch "Fuel Economy" and then "Fuel Eco History" on the screen.

I have the Nav/Premium/Technology packages, but I assume that same feature is there for all trim levels.

Yes that is how you reset the history.
I reset both the history and the odometer each time I fill up. I also write the info down and keep a excel spreadsheet on my computer.

Mine is about 17mpg mixed and I am going out of my way to be gentle. Seems odd that folks with the same car, with an added diff up front can get so much better mileage. I'm just hoping that things improve as my first gen actually got the same exact mileage and I was hoping for a couple MPGs better based on the window sticker/EPA ratings of the newer model.

In this day and age, the only cars getting below 20mpg mixed are large SUVs.

Don't give me the performance car speech because I have friends with Bimmers and Audis and those often exceed the EPA ratings on the window sticker, not fall below them. I almost wonder if this is just a limitation of large displacement, high compression, port based injection motors? Perhaps this is why the Germans like boosting their lower compression, smaller displacement, direct injection motors (of course this introduces a new set of tradeoffs).

Thanks guys. It's amazing how easy some things are to find once someone else shows you. I spent 20 mins trying to find this in the 267 page Navigation Owners Guide. Also, I noticed that I do not have any history at this point and the "Reset Fuel Eco History"button is grayed out. Is there something I need to do to engage this function?

400 miles on a 2013 G37 Sedan. So far I am at 14-15 MPG. I drive mostly on the streets, short commutes mostly and some idle time. I didn't buy it for MPG or I would of got a Prius

Have you guys doubled checked your mpg computer on the dash and navigation system for accuracy? I check my mileage by dividing how many gallons I fill by the mileage on the odometer (you would have to reset your trip monitor prior to this and make sure you fill your tank up fully) and it is consistently 1.2-2.0 miles less per mpg than the dash and the nav. I trust my manual method to the in-car computers. The closest to accurate is when you reset the dash counter every time you fill up.

Makes me wonder if these miscalculations are deliberate.
