I'm guessing about 23.5mpg. Slow it down to the speed limit and you'll see better numbers.

through 1900 miles i am at 18.5 mpg, probably 60% of my miles are highway, the other 40 are "city" if you even want to call it that, mostly nj suburb driving.."spirited driving" 90% of the time

I do a kind of hypermiling driving and I can get 35-45 mpg on road trips. I did it when I got the car on the way back from ATL and did REALLY well.

My first week driving to work (44 miles R/T) I was averaging about 15-18 mpg. I've since utilized cruise control more than I should/want and have averaged about 26 mpg. It really does make a difference.

The only downside however is that you can't truly enjoy the car since you're at a constant speed most of the time, which ROYALLY sux. The moment you punch on the accelerator, the mpg dips below 15..closer to 10 mpg...damn!

I also drafted behind trucks whenever I got the chance.

That's nothing to brag about.. With fuel efficient cars, you can drive like shlt, and there is no need to drift behind a truck to get good mileage.

^^^ I think he's talking about getting 35mpg in his G (that's certainly something to brag about)... if not, then why are we talking about another car in a G37 forum?

Yeah, I get around 18mpg doing 90/10 city/highway driving now... was doing way worse when my car was new in the winter time. I wouldn't be surprised if you get 22mpg+ cruising on the highway.

yeah but look at all the trouble he's going thru just to get it? While under normal everyday driving condition, you get about 17-19mpg.

lets talk about real world numbers, not about 1 night someone decided to hit the empty highway on cruise control to see how much MPG you can get.

I agree with you, but some people have long commutes to/from work and being a little more "disciplined" goes a long way to saving a few hundred dollars over the course of a year; then they can use the money to buy a jwt pop charger! lol

I am still on the G37 Journey loaner until my S comes in. Lets just say I am testing the capabilities of the car. The computer told me I was getting 11 mpg but when I put in gas and did the math, it showed I was getting 15.5 mpg. The car had 30 miles on the odometer when I picked it up so that seems to be in range for the first tank and testing it out.

It is showing that I am getting closer to 20mpg now on my 2nd tank as I have reverted to more everyday driving with a combo of city and highway (mostly city).

How many tanks does it take before the fuel economy generally improves? I have seen a lot of posts saying it takes a little while for the computer to learn.

Also, my car is now in the state and they hope to have to me on Wednesday or Thursday at the latest so I can turn in the loaner! I am going to keep track of the actual gas mileage and what the computer tells me during the first three tanks just to have baseline for others to compare.
