Exhaust experts help me pt. 2

I just bought a G coupe about a month ago & this is my first project car. I just installed Megan test pipes being my first modification. I didn’t realize how much rasp is gained with TP, it didn’t sound as bad in videos. It sounds amazing when I’m cruising, but whenever i get on it is when all the rasp comes loose. I don’t want to remove the TP bc like i said it sounds good until i get on it. Is there any catback or axleback suggestions that’ll reduce rasp? I also read somewhere that an aftermarket Y pipe may help but id like more opinions & knowledge.

an axle back would just make it worse. you need to add a couple more resonators somewhere

Adding a topspeed axleback will make it sound super good. Contrary to popular belief like he said ^, that's what the consensus was. I was the first person to do topspeed axleback with test pipes and it sounds great.

Check out my video of the setup.

he wants it to sound good in the cabin. It may sound awesome from outside but its still gonna be too much drone and rasp in the cabin

It had no drone or rasp. It had some drone after 80 mph. My ISR single exit is so much worse with drone.

can you send me the link of the exact axle back you have? & how loud is it? I would like something pretty loud. I like people to know I’m around 😂

I’m not as worried about the sound in the cabin, I’d really just like to get rid of as much rasp as i can. I want to hear my VQ

Resonator is your friend. They have resonated test pipes that I would always suggest over non-resonated. But, if you are stuck on keeping the TP currently installed, add a bigger resonator to the mid-pipe. That should quiet it down.

I would honestly just go with the resonated version of the TP before chopping pipes.

If you want loud and no rasp, you need to get HFC and then you can get the top-speed non-resonated axle back.

The resonated TS axleback is pretty quiet so with your TP, you might be ok...

Non-resonated axleback + TP is too loud and is raspy

Resonated test pipes + the muffler version topspeed axle back. Don't get the non muffler one. HFC would be good as well if you don't want the fuel smell.
