HELP! G37xs Exhaust

Hey guys, I am brand new to customizing cars and I need some help. I want a better sound but nothing abnoxious. From what ive read I would want axle back becuase im not looking for any gains and need to save some money. I have watched a few youtube clips and the tanabe medalion sounds great. Is this compatible with my car (2013 g37 xs)? Anything that I should know or am missing? Thanks in advance!

Tanabe is probably the best looking/subtle axle back there is, in my opinion. Yes, it fits.

Thanks for the answer man, appreciate it.

Amazon Amazon

I believe this is the right item based on questions answered on amazon. Is there any other place I could find it cheaper?

Wow, that's a heavy price drop! I got mine about 3 months ago and it was about $650 - $750 and trust me I searched. A cursory search I just did shows it's the cheapest price you can get it for right now (Unless you find a used one in the classified section). I'd grab it at that price asap before the Amazon algorithms send the price back up.

Regarding the mufflers....I have mine paired with RHFCs from Fast Intentions and tuned (so if you pair yours with stock cats they might sound different.

The only negative I have regarding the mufflers is that there is some drone when cruising on the highway between approximately 1800 - 2200 rpm which is around 60 - 70 mph for my car. I've got used to it now or maybe it got better as the mufflers broke in but the first few days after installation were pretty bad.

The positives...the sound is fantastic, to me anyway. I also weighed my stock muffler which was about 30 lbs while both Tanabe mufflers weigh about 17 lbs combined, not much but weight savings anyway. I did not test this extensively but I'm pretty sure my gas mileage is better with the Tanabes. I recently reinstalled my stock mufflers to just do a comparison after a few months with them on....the stock mufflers while not bad just sounded anemic compared to the medalions. I'll upload a video in a second where you can hear the exhaust note.

Do you know of any exhaust systems that sound similar (decibel and tone) but without drone?

Haha, that's Amazon for you. Makes me wanna pull my hair out sometimes; it's at $680 now so almost a $200 jump after your purchase.

Good thing is that you have 30 days to return them if you don't like them. Just give them some time to settle down, about 2 weeks or so. I'm curious to know what you think about them.

If you're gonna install them yourself (which I recommend as it's basically just 4 bolts and you don't need to jack the car up) remember to lubricate the rubber hangers before attempting to pull the metal hooks out...will prevent some cursing

the Beluga axle back is identical. got mine on ebay for around $260.

very happy with the sound - not TOO loud, but definitely deeper and more aggressive with no rasp.
