A/c whine upon acceleration

I've had my 2008 coupe for years now. When it's really hot outside and the ac is on, it occasionally makes a whining noise when accelerating. Goes off when the ac is turned off. Not talking about the loud compressor which Infiniti says is normal. Goes up and down with rpm. Is this normal? I'm kind of a "fix it when it's broken" guy, so it's been doing this for a while, anyone experience this?

Check belt tension? Possible bearing wear or thermal expansion?

On a almost ten year old vehicle leave it alone until it fails.
That might not happen for a couple of years in which time you may not even own the vehicle any longer?

Never try to fix anything that isn't broke.
