tint ticket.
xmajd92 had a bad day a couple days ago. well today is mine.
i got pulled over this morning on my way to work and cited for tints on my door windows. CHP got me on the 10 east, in bumper to bumper traffic. great way to start the week.
I though it was a fix-it ticket but on the ticket, tint is listed under non correctable violations. has anyone else gotten a non correctable tint ticket? is there a way to get is changed to a correctable ticket? anyone else have experience with this?
with all that being said it could be a lot worse. its only a slap on the wrist, but still sucks. looks like LA county is gonna get 100 bucks from me.

I got one a long time ago in MD and back then I got a fine and had to get the tint removed and get it certified at a shop that did inspections. Since then (late 80's) I've gone legal on all my tint.

I think even fix-it tickets you still have to pay some kind of clerical fees plus the removal of tint. So I think it is better that you only have to pay the small fine and keep the tint.
Just curious how dark is your tint and if your exhaust is loud.

i have the stock exhaust so thats not even a factor. my only mods so far are led bulbs, takeda long tube intake, and a grounding kit. so for the most part it looks and sounds stock.
ya i had a fix-it ticket in the past (like 7 or 8 years ago) and had to pay a 15 dollar processing fee.

wow first of the month and the cop has started his quota early. didn't realize that it has become a non correctable offensive for window tint. damn democrats, probably trying to find ways to fund their illegal immigrant and welfare programs.

I guess just be on the look out. And if you see a cop just roll down your windows.

My fiance has a sensitivity to migraines and has a prescription in case they get too bad.
Got her insured and is a co-owner on the vehicle.
Be lying if I said I didn't plan it out a little....
Edit* Go to Dr. say you have a sensitivity to light while driving after working all day (relate your job to why your eyes would be strained/sensitive) and you're getting headaches and feeling nauseous. You recently carpooled with a co-worker who had (insert tint %) and realized a noticeable reduction in the amount of light entering the vehicle; realized you didn't feel quite as nauseous and the head ache's weren't as intense. Could they (the Dr.) write you a Dr.'s note for tint matching that of your co-worker's since you're not trying to become dependent on any medication and have a hard time remembering to take any medication. You wouldn't want to forget and have another episode driving home.
Typically works if you have a good relationship with the Dr. but I worked with an individual who was exempt from wearing seat belts because of a Dr.'s note.

my tint is somewhere between 20 and 35 percent. its not really too dark.

20% compared to 35% is quite different. In most states, it's the difference from legal to illegal. I personally finds 20% tint to be noticeably darker then 35% from my experience. It's odd that they wouldn't test your window for you and tell you what the exact percentage you were being cited for to compare to your local laws. It's sort of like being cited for speeding without radar/laser data.
That's a good point, I'd argue there was no test performed that compared your tint to the 35% limit. I was cited after I put an exhaust and header set up on one of my older cars and the cop said I was louder than the dB level set by the city....Didn't argue it at the time but I sure made that point in court.
