Eek....that sucks! Has your exhaust always been mounted that close to the bumper or did you (or someone else) hit it?

Seems like a good time to fab your own bumper guards.
But as j50ny pointed out, you should fix the issue and try to lower the tips first.

No I just installed my exhaust two weeks ago. I guess it's been causing the damage since then.

Yeah I do need to lower the tips. Hopefully the hangars are bendable. I debating on whether or not to fixing the damage because you can't see it when standing and I also plan on putting a diffuser.

Negligence.

Terrible.

Sad.

You can add washers to the hanger bolts which will lower the mufflers. May need longer bolts though.

I can't remember what the underside of the G looks like (or even my EX, for that matter), but you should be able to unbolt the bracket and add some spacers/washers there. You may need longer bolts, but that's not hard to find.

Yes, you should also be able to bend them which actually may be easier.

Lol....just saw this which is pretty much what I said also.

It's worked for me a few times in the past.

that looks like tanabe axle back, I personally never had issue with that exhaust with my IPL rear. maybe a muffler shop can help you try to adjust a bit..

It is the tanabe. However, my car was in an accident that affected the rear. Probably caused slight fitment issues.

I got under my car, tried bending the piece that the tanabe hanger attaches to. Wouldn't budge. It's like 1/2" solid steel. Maybe the hanger itself would have been easier, but I was in a really awkward position with poor leverage and didn't want to remove the entire exhaust. Ended up just taking off the piece when I realized that with it completely loose and hanging, the muffler sits perfectly. The muffler isn't too dangly because it has a second hanger. Problem solved, I think.. Now I just need to decide what I'm going to about the damage.

You took out one of the hangers?? I wouldn't go that far.. maybe do what other members have suggested and just stack a bunch of washers under there so it's still holding a bit of weight, or even just an anchor point while the other hanger carries most of the weight.
