Guys!

Thank you for all your input. I pulled the trigger and picked up the M3 yesterday and sold the IPL. Everybody is happy! Just FYI - I bought the car from here http://9818.ecarlist.com/web/invento.../All_vehicles/ and they had six amazing M3's to choose from (which is unheard of by the way) I kid you not! I had them line up the best three and chose the middle one.

The dealership is just outside Newark, NJ in a huge warehouse and is amazing. All their cars stay under roof. These are the M3' I chose from but feel free to look through their other inventory for fun. Any other questions? Please ask me! Highly recommended!

well clearly it doesn't matter but I think this was a monumental mistake and I'm shocked everyone said to sell the IPL.

M series cars are not going anywhere ever.

IPLs are never coming back. a 5-7 year old car with 34k miles is unheard of and a 6MT IPL is already stupid rare. I'd have offered $26k in a heartbeat also.

On top of that you didn't get another 6MT..... Definitely gotta do you but this could not be further from what I would have done if I had been in that position.

wtf are you talking about?
did you use a ladder for that reach?

OP wasn't even remotely considering an E30. He bought a late model and Ms are still being produced where IPLs are not.

Just because something is no longer produced does not make it priceless or more valuable to an audience...

You might find a niche within a niche within the niche that is the auto enthusiast world that would place higher value on the IPL compared to any other G37, let alone over an M3, but in terms of re-sale, broader appeal, and performance out of the box the M3 was the right choice for the OP. Take this thread for example, out of the 34-35/37 posts have been in favor of the M. The low mileage of the IPL isn't that unheard of either for a 5-7 yr old. I just found 6 more for less....

It's really no different than a Honda fan and a Mugen Civic. Sure, they know they're rare and appreciate what they offer but would you pay an extra couple thousand dollars for a Civic Si simply because of cosmetic differences and <10 more HP/TQ?

Malbac Black, Fewer Miles than OP, lower asking price, 6MT

Beautiful car and I'd love to have one but this Unicorn is only appreciated by a few.

Great choice. A V8 that revs past 8300rpm, coupled with a dual clutch auto trans to run mid 12's, stock.. Damn, don't know about you guys but I would have a blast with that! Not to mention the cornering capabilities, its super well rounded. Even I'm tempted. Then again, I still think the reliability and sound of a VQ is better than almost anything out there (minus the LFA).. Rant over, still love my Jap car.

Lol at least it's out of the way and you can enjoy your Friday

It's a shame, especially since I think Infiniti had a real opportunity to brand the IPL as the "M" line of Infiniti even if it didn't measure up 100%. They really did the G dirty there at the end in all aspects to be honest.

Missed the mark on the IPL

Re-badged to 'Q' which has as much personality as Ben Stein

Finally put FI into a VQ motor - make it AT only.

The icing on the cake being Hyundai swooping in and trademarking / copyrighting the "G" for the Genesis line after posing and copying the Infiniti G for years.

I agree completely.

But don't forget the fact they are charging $60k+ for a measly 400hp car and don't even offer a DCT for it.

Infiniti post 2014 era is disgusting IMO. i'll hold onto my 2013 as long as humanly possible.

100% there with you. I wanted a G since I started college; back when the G35 was released. My friend used to call it the panty dropper ha ha. Then the G37 came out right when I graduated and the economy was garbage. Couldn't afford the gas I was putting in my own car.

I have to like the Q because without it, I wouldn't have been able to get a #goals car of mine. G prices sank with the Q and if anybody knew anything, they'd suck every G up while they could over a Q at 1/2 the price.

They're trying to brand themselves as luxury and get away from the performance IMO. The RS is like || <--this close to being awesome but it just doesn't do it for me. If black S becomes a real thing I'll be excited again but I'm guessing prices for it will be insane. Find myself eyeing up some domestic brands and 2 Europeans (not going dark side) as a possibility in 5 years.
