For the record, I beat the holy crap out of my 08 with 103k, old school timing gasket and all, I've replaced the brake pads (mainly because I wore them down) and that's it... These are very reliable. My roommate has an 04 g35 with 290k and doesn't maintain it at all, hes literally waiting for it to break down for an excuse to buy an Evo X. I'd drive my car to the coast and back without any hesitation.

 

My experience has been pretty good in terms of reliability with my 2013 G37. Bought in 2014 at 28K, now at 52K with nothing but oil and filters.

On the other hand one of the guys I work with bought a 2013 335 in late 2016 for more than I spent on my car in 2014. Has put probably less than 5k miles on it and he's already had a coolant leak, replaced a brake sensor, and cracked an intake pipe. You want to know the best part? My car is faster lol!

 

Good to know. I plan on driving the new G I get from the east coast to the west coast next year. My 04 hasn't had any problem, only ever changed brakes tires oil changes belts and battery. It only has 70k miles though.

ill never buy German. I hate the look of BMW interiors and hate the repair and maintenance costs even more so.

 

Is it just me or do all German cars, or at least the Benz and Beemers I've driven smell like melted crayons?

 

I have a 2014, bought it last year, full warranty. If you still have a '14 available definitely go for it. Now, i wouldn't be too sure about a long coast to coast ride though. The car is stiff

 

Man that is a tough one!!! I absolutely love the IPL line. It is done. No mods are needed nor would they make it any better IMO. That being said I always try to find the newest car in my price range so the 2014 fits the bill. Still I'd probably be kicking myself for passing on the IPL.

 

dont get scared off with getting anything older than 2012...
if anything.. probably still cheaper to go low mileage 08-10 AND having the seal changed for peace of mind..

 

I like the ipl but I'd probably buy the newer '14.
