CF Spoiler Install Ideas?

Hey guys and gals,

First post on this forum So I purchased my first G last month, a 2010 G37x 7AT coupe and instantly wanted to swap out the tiny chrome spoiler in the back for something more...aggressive . So my question is what would be the best way to install this spoiler?

Yes I know its chinese and not oem but it's by far the best looking spoiler i've seen. I'd like a tad bit more support than just 3M tape, does anyone have any ideas for installing this on top of the stock spoiler? Thanks in advance!

Welcome to the site! Hard to tell from the pics if you install this over the chrome piece or you have to remove the chrome section and install. The OEM spoiler requires removal of the chrome piece and has a bracket to locate the trunk button and rear view camera flush to the spoiler. If this spoiler does install over the chrome piece your trunk button will be tucked way back and wouldn't look proper unless it comes w/ that bracket, at least that's what I'm thinking. FWIW I think the OEM spoiler looks pretty good, and you're guaranteed a quality fit and paint match. I haven't seen this one on the site but maybe w/ enough search you could find one perhaps. I don't think I'd buy it without seeing it on another G first.

You'd have to remove the stock chrome piece... I bought one.. it definitely looks better in person, and there is small 1 mm gaps in certain areas that would be close with the double sided tape.

I'm in the process of glassing some threaded rod in place so I'll be able to tighten it down with tape

Hey Sharkey, I think I saw your post about the same spoiler before I posted this. I'm not too concerned with tiny gaps as long as for the most part it looks flush. I plan on taking off the chrome spoiler and trying to glue or mold or screw the cf spoiler onto it then reinstall it as one piece. I'm just trying to figure out which one/combo of tape/glue/screw would work best for this :0

Glassing the chrome to the spoiler would work.. you definitely have to gut the chrome spoiler to make that aftermarket one fit better

Hmmm, what do you mean by glassing? Also, by gut the chrome spoiler do you mean trim it to fit into the other spoiler? Would you mind posting any pics of your spoiler on?

Mine is not installed...

Fiberglass ingredients the chrome piece to the aftermarket one.

You would have to cut the chrome one up for the aftermarket to sit on top. It won't fit with the chrome piece in place, as you do have to remove it

I put one on my g37 came out pretty good, mounting the back up camera was pretty difficult had to break oem bracket holding in camera to mount, but 3m tape is holding pretty good!

Looks great! Think I'll go that route once I get tired of this one, love the oem one.
