Wiper Arm Rust and Fix?
I noticed one of my Wiper arm has some slight rust at the J-Hook.
1. Would taking it off to remove rust and then painting it black be a feasible option rather than a replacement?
2. If painting it is an option, what kind of paint would work best given the extreme cold and hot, humid summer here in Chicago?
3. Anyone know what the size of the nut holding the wiper arm is?
3. Anyone know what the torque spec is for the nut when I am reinstalling the wiper arm back onto the wiper motor?
Thanks all in advance.

Many many people remove them for their race cars so its really easy. I would say just pull them both so they match, sand them free of any rust, spray some rust preventative primer paint and then cover with a matte black BBQ paint (hella tough) and be done. I bet its held by a 10-12mm nut and just torque it back down pretty hard. They do weigh a good amount and get thrown back and forth for the life of the car.
