OEM Spoiler Drilling
I just got the OEM Sport spoiler. Comfortable drilling under chrome lip, but do not want to drill the outside two holes for the snap piece (the two outermost holes shown on the diagram. I see some sedan owners get away with not doing the outside drilling, and was said to be sturdy enough. Have you taken this route on the coupe? If so, is it sturdy, or would you have opted to drill the outside?
Reason being, is because I want to ultimately get another trunk lid to debadge (since mine was improperly glued), and rather not deal with the headache for a bad paint match.
Also, confused on the diameter specs for drilling. Could someone help clarify? Is it 3mm pilot to a bigger 18mm? Hope I explained this right.

Yes, all the 3mm are the pilot holes so your larger bits will center properly. As far as the outside holes for the push clips, my Sedan spoiler has held firm for about 5 years now w/ just the double sided tape holding that down, the coupe shouldn't really be any different but maybe someone can chime in that's also not drilled the outer 2 holes. There are quite a few fasteners holding the body of the spoiler down and that tape does a nice job as well. ****Also be sure to spray some primer on some Q-tips and swab the drilled holes to help w/ rust prevention.

Just being honest, a 18 mm hole saw out there is unforgiving...

On another note, those hole sizes seem huge, I didn't have the instructions or hardware sent w/ mine so I don't know what size the clips were, but about a 3/4" hole seems way larger than what those push clips would require, they should only be about a 1/2" at most going by what pics I've seen????

I installed the OEM spoiler and drilled ALL the holes. You don't use a hole saw you can use one of those variable stepped drill bits. You should use more than primer on the holes (as the instructions suggest), us a rust preventer. BTW, the holes for those larger ones dont have to be exact, a close SAE size is fine.
