HELP! Exhaust (How to get a louder/roaring sound)
Hi guys!
I drive a 2011 G37s and everything is stock on the car. I'm much a novice with car modification so needed a bit of advice. I don't like the sound of the stock exhaust in my car - I want a louder/roaring sound but I don't want to spend too much on it.
Can I achieve this by replacing the muffler only? If yes, which one do you suggest and how much would it cost? If any of you has only changed the muffler please share your views.
For brothers in UAE: Did you face passing/re-registration issues with an aftermarket muffler?
Cheers!

What quality of "loud" sound do you want? You could simply do a muffler delete to make your exhaust louder. When I had my G, it had a very subtle rumble at idle, but sounded off when going 50-100% throttle. I ran a Stillen Gen 3 intake, Stillen CBE, an Fast Intentions resonated high flow cats.

There is nothing there. But as DJ asked what quality are you going for? If you are just going for loud a resonator & muffler delete will do the trick...it will sound like crap but its loud on the cheap. If you want it louder but sound good...it will cost you a little. This is not a cheap car to modify so if money is your issue, i'd say keep the car stock and plan for the future

Keep in mind that there is only so much that can be done with engine sound. Our cars are V6 engines. Nothing will give it the throaty rumble of a big V8. But various mods can make it louder and lower within limits. Tanabe, Meisterschaft, and Motordyne exhausts are the ones most likely to give it the sound that I think you might want. The clip didn't paly for me so I didn't hear what you wanted it to sound like, just guessing.

One of the axle back mufflers will make it louder.
Combine that with high flow cats.. I bet that will give you the sound you are looking for.
I say prepare to spend roughly $900 USD for the combination though.

Beluga axleback - pleased with mine, $269 from ebay.
louder and deeper, but not loud enough to give you a headache on a daily driver (been there, done that a few times).

I am trying to find an exhaust just like the OP. Louder than stock, more deeper, but not obnoxious.
