Sticky and cracking dash fun
Yea, the title says it all. My dash is sticky and its cracking. Id rather drive my car off a cliff than put a dash mat on it.. SOO I'm thinking that i should either paint it or vinyl wrap it. which required removing the dash... which theres no DIY's on.. Does anyone else have any other ideas? or does anyone know how to remove the dash? ORRRR does anyone just know how to get rid of the stickyness? If you can help me with any of my questions, i will be forever in your debt

My dash is having the same problem. Thinking about swapping the entire dash. Thinking it's going to be a PITA however lol. Wonder if there's a step-by-step in the service manual for this procedure...

Yes we all have a cracking dash. My car is garage kept all the time, never had but one crack on the drivers side. All of a sudden I get in the car one day and there are 4 long cracks going right above the radio and on the sides. Literally me . I heard some people had their dash's replaced under warranty and they said the dash isn't put back with effort and is rushed so it causes it to creak and make sounds. I would wayyyyyyyyyyyyyy rather look at cracks than hear stupid sounds!

My TL had that issue from heat. Prevent it from conditioning with a vinyl/leather conditioner. Luxor works wonders for me.
But now, I would just live with it, as it is only cosmetic. I don't see it being worth the thousands to replace. You would do better trading your car in. Just my 0.02.

The binding/edge is a little big/shiny IMO, but it works for now. :P It comes with a pad for the top of the cluster too but I don't like it on there.

Not bad, not bad. Would prefer to avoid that if at all possible. Might be the only route to take however. Nice stick shift by the way I have a manual as well. Don't see too many of them on here.

Dash
My 08 G37S is experiencing a sticky and cracking dash also. Very disappointing as I can't seem to part with it. This is my 4th Infiniti, and this is by far the best. There has to be a solution for this issue.

My dash is getting worse by the month. It's sticky and now it's got hairline cracks all over.
I tried getting my name on the class action lawsuit, but the lawyers aren't responding anymore.
This is crazy. My car is a 2008 with just over 50K miles. Everything is in perfect condition but the dash.
I think I may try to order one of those dash covers even though I hate that idea. But it's getting harder and harder to drive with the glare.

What are some recommended conditioners?
I had this happen in my Altima. It started all of a sudden 2 years before it was totaled. Luckily the cracks kinda spread in places where it wasn't so obvious. But the shininess and stickiness was pretty bad in the last year, couldn't even wipe it because the towel would get stuck. I really don't want to have to deal with it again. Not a good look.
