resonated muffler delete?
Hi,
I'm looking to do a muffler delete on my g37s coupe and wanted some advise. I previously posted a thread asking about a muffler delete and people stated that it can be very raspy. Additionally I have berk test pipes and custom tips (4 inch) to install as well when/if I was to do the muffler delete.
My question is now, is there a way to have a shop add resonators to the custom piping to decrease the raspy-ness/drone? Does this sound like a good idea? Any help is greatly appreciated!
Regards,

Your OEM resonators before the mufflers prevent a lot of the rasp so you should be ok in that respect. But deleting your muffler paired with a test pipe is stupidly loud. I've heard a lot of cars with test pipes with resonator and/or muffler deletes and it just simply doesn't sound good...maybe on a Ferrari, but not on a G
Source: I installed test pipes with my axle back with no mufflers and I changed it the weekend after

I drove a couple days without my mufflers while I was waiting for my Tanabe's to show up, it sounded kinda cool at a cruising speed but miserable and loud at acceleration and deceleration. Now yes, you can add resonators any way you want but then that defeats the purpose of deleting the muffler. It'll quiet the rasp and sound at the same time. Our motors don't sound good with removing exhaust, only upgrading.

Test pipe should be fine with an axleback right?

Then, if you A) want it significantly louder AND b) don't mind the horrible smell from test pipes, the install the test pipes or HFC afterwards. Either way I think it'll sound good

A little late to respond as I see you ordered the Beluga - I'm too lazy to search but I believe that comes with mufflers. In this case, you may be OK to get test pipes. If I were you, I'd install the axleback first.

As axis mentioned, the raw fuel smell from TPs is obvious and if you spend a lot of time idling in stop & go traffic it can be obtrusive. Luckily I don't have that problem.
