Exclamation Need help making q60 louder

Hey guys this is my first post on myg37. I have a 2014 q60 that is stock but i have a topspeed pro 1 axle back exhaust installed. I added two inch extenders on the exhaust to fit my car due to the fact that it was meant for a g37 coupe. At first I loved the sound it made because it was a huge upgrade from the stock exhaust but now I want to make it louder because I got accustomed to the sound. I don't know much about what i should do but after researching, I found people saying to add HFC test pipes or Y pipe. Any suggestions from you guys who have more knowledge than I would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!!

Well if you already have different mufflers/pipes the next cheapest/easiest upgrade would be the y-pipe, then mid pipe, then cats, then headers, in that order. If it were me I would actually do high flow cats next. They make a huge difference in sound and will give you the most power out of any other exhaust piece. Hop on YouTube and checkout some videos of different exhausts on 370z's, G37's and of course Q60's.

If you want LOUD don't get Tanabe. It's even quieter on the sedan.

The mod that makes it the loudest would be test pipes and muffler delete, but you'll get rasp from the test pipes. Resonated test pipes or HFC would be the next best options for no rasp, but probably not quite as loud.

Loudest possible = test pipes + aftermarket catback system + resonator and muffler deletes

Just be warned this option will make it damn near undriveable.

Add test pipes and a Megan racing y pipe and call it a day? Why did you get extenders when the your car is compatible with g37 coupe exhaust? If you sell your top speed and add another 700 dollars you can buy probably a ark system that will be louder and add test pipes and you'll be happy

I felt the same way when I had an axle back done, removing the resonators helps, doing a custom x pipe or aftermarket Y-pipe does the job too. Or if you want a bit more power and sound do the cats and everything back and match all the piping the same size. I ended up adding Fast Intentions Non-resonated HFCs and had a custom resonated x pipe with tubing fabbed up to my exhaust and it made a substantial difference. Would sound great with your axle back.

If you have an axle back with no mufflers......what exactly did you buy?
Do you have just the 2" extensions on ? Post some pics please.

Well "loud" is quite subjective, I'm not really sure what the person means when they say "loud", to me that means something other than stock? I think the Tanabe's are loud, louder than what I expected or had on my previous coupe (magnaflow catback). But then again my definition of loud is different.

I should have clarified. I meant the Tanabe is not quite as loud as many other axleback or catback options. I'm running the Tanabe axleback on my coupe right now, and its only slightly louder than stock. I think even on their website they list their axleback as limited to street legal decibels. OP already has a top speed axleback, and in my opinion the Tanabe might not be much louder if at all.

Fast intentions, Invidia, Ark, GT Haus, Motordyne all seem to be louder options (cat back or axleback).

If you YouTube clips for the others you'll see what I mean.

Need help making q60 louder-img_2704.jpg

I have a topspeed pro 1 axle back. And these pictures are before i put on the extensions. The exhaust pipes were too short and were burning the bottom of the bumper and thats why i got extensions welded on. The topspeed pro 1 axle back is for 08-13 g37 coupes and even though the engine is the same, the piping lengths are different as I was told by a representative from Topspeed. At first I was content with the sound but now it only sounds good on certain days for some reason.

Thanks for the inputs
