Sport to IPL conversion

Just curious how much it would cost to fully convert a sport model to an IPL with parts and labor. Anybody have any idea roughly? I sold my sport to a friend and bought an IPL but the new owner of my sport wanted to know.

Thanks

Well, the only differences between a Sport and an IPL are the bumpers, side skirts, I think a stiffer spring rate and an IPL tune on the ECU. That's it. Prices will vary greatly on the paint work but those parts can all be sourced fairly easily. Then, I would roll with the stock Sport springs and get a tune. After that his car would likely be the same or faster depending on how well the tuner did..

Edit: I noticed you were looking for actual figures. Well, lately the bumpers have been ordered and received for about $400 each. The sides can be around $2-300 for the set. Depending on who you take it to, a shop could have them painted and installed for anywhere from $350 - $2000, totally depends on the quality you are after. A tune is totally hit and miss also but if you order Uprev/ECUtek software and dyno time etc you're looking at about $1000 or more, hard to say.

Probably $1500-2000 depending on if you can get insane deals on parts or not and if it's just body work, labor cost could be saved by DIYing, maybe even a $1000 if lucky.

You'll need dampers, too.

i spent $1300 for front bumper and side skirts as well as paint. Finding IPL for a decent price is the hard part.

The IPL has a true dual exhaust as well. So you would need an IPL mid-pipe and the IPL muffler, or Sport muffler which is very similar... then there are the wheels

There's a few through the big auction site that have gone for pretty cheap. Just keep your eyes peeled.

OEM IPL Front bumper- $500 on ebay
OEM IPL Side skirts- $500 on ebay
OEM IPL Rear bumper- $400 on ebay
OEM Slim washer tank (if you're adding foglights) - $140
Installation- depends where you go but roughly $300 to $400

Rough estimated total = $1900 to $2000

This is how how I did mine for and how much I payed minus the rear bumper bc I'm just not sold on how it looks.

You guys are forgetting one of the best parts of the IPL, the Monaco Red interior. Not sure how much that costs. Think i saw the wheels mentioned.

Oh man the red interior is sexy. Good luck finding a full interior for sale though. Pretty much a part out only option. Or of course, get the interior reupholstered.
