Muffler delete. worth it??
Hey guys just wondering if anyone has ever deleted their muffler on g37 coupes. Does it add any horsepower? Do you think it was sound more aggressive? I don't have any mufflers on my other car but don't know how it would affect a g37. Any information would help. Thanks !

Do a quick search on the forum there's so many threads regarding muffler deletes with videos and everything. Hope this helps man! I also pinpointed a few in regards to your question itself.

When I first got my Convertible, I was concerned that the 'zorst was so quiet you couldn't hear what revs you had on her . . . . . so had to keep checking the tacho
I initially tried changing the back box - (Pic 1 here) still a bit too quiet so we then ended up removing the box and just continuing the pipes - see Pic2.
Noise level was much better, so you can actually hear the engine note. Added nothing at all to the horses, though.
Looks a bit odd as the pipes we'd fabricated we re-used just without the box, but it had the desired effect on the noise level. To answer the question - Yes, it works, but don't do it for any horsepower gains.
FWIW I subsequently fitted AAM HFCs and AAM Y pipe. Noise level went up dramatically, so had to make another back box, but the OP question was about deleting the muffler so this next step is another story!

Your exhaust set up looks nice ! But yea thinking of getting my muffler taken out tomorrow. I really don't care if I don't get any horsepower, I just want it for the exhaust sound. : )

Hey OP if you're driving something nice like a G37 don't just rip the muffler off like it's a civic. If you're looking to save some $$ and give your exhaust a louder, more aggressive tone I'd suggest an axleback like Blnewt did. The Top speed is a great choice.
