HELP: Outcast Garage IPL Front Splitter question
#16
I had mines not to long ago and forgot to post what i did, i got the CF one, it came with no instructions at all and some bolts, here is what i did, no mines didn't come with those lines or cracks or anything, it came in as one solid nice piece. it was hollowed from the bottom. these will require more effort but it is worth it in the end, i waited for a bit and got a good price when i ordered it. when you sand it down, prime and paint you will like it, it is common for stuff like this to easily get scratched & scuffed, i fixed and changed endless brands of CF and FG parts on various cars. some better than others and some vendors better than others,
1- I sprayed a clear coat on it since it came with just the UV protection coat which fades with time.
2- I let a guy do the work, he simply aligned it with clamps till we got it straight then drilled holes used the bolts it came with to hold it down ( see pics ) i ended up using a few more screws,
I even cleared my ebay grill so it won't chip ;-)
I took the headlight out to replace it while i was working on the bumper, had issues with it.
He will align it and i will tell him move left or right or up till it was right, he clamped it down then drilled.
Get some extra Bolts just encase, i used about 3-4 extra
Results.
Hope this helps somewhat.

Glad i helped, not much pics but hopefully you get the idea, your car has a nice flat color it will look nice, how far out or how far back you want it is up to you or whoever is working on it, you can stick it out or push it back i prefer to push back as much as you can, you don't want to end up hitting it every time you park to close to something, ill go crazy if that happens and i have a feeling its a matter of time till it does lol. cheers friend

I also have the CF version of the splitter, bottom was hollowed out like yours and I was disappointed. I like the parts that Outcast offers but their quality control is meh. Splitter came with scratches but I just sucked it up and installed it anyways after spraying some clear coat. Hardware was left out and I had to wait for them to ship them to me. I've ordered and return TWO CF rear roof spoilers because of quality issues...

I'm wondering if it'd be worth the effort to "fill in" the bottom. Foam core and then fiberglass over the top. I like the way it looks on the IPL bumper but it'd have to be somewhat functional.
I tried to price out a 3/16" sheet of quasi-isotropic carbon fiber in the right size and have it cut. No go. Would be well over $2K.
