Just picked up my coupe, need some advice on my build
Hello everybody from Toronto Canada!
I'd like to quickly thank this community for somehow having answers in past postings to every questions I've had while researching, ya'll are great!
I just picked up a 2009 Coupe in white, and have a few stacks to play with...
because I am in canada things aren't so readily available and I have to be cautious about buying across border due to currency exchange and possible import taxes etc.
Anyway, what do I want out of my car? Classiness, exotic sound primarily, and if a few horsies gets added along the way that's cool too!
looking locally, something I can get easily is Top speed axle back exhaust, and Im looking at ordering in Berk HFC.
My question is, if you had a few thousand to drop right after getting the car, what would you do first? What mods are worth getting the very best of if budget allows for it?
My mod plan looks like this:
1.splash guards
2. light window and rear tail-lights tint
3. top speed axel back
4. berk hfc
5. 2 ten inch sub? or one 12 inch
6. some kind of coilovers
7. tune? necessary?
next season
8. some kind of rims with deep dish and concave look
9. intake?
I've seen some pretty dope work wheels vs xx that i'd like to get, but if i got them wheels about half my mod budget would be gone...my logic is if i got coil overs and dropped the car, she'd look better than stock anyway and rims could wait..
is there some sort of logic i should follow when doing mods and deciding what to do first? my main priority is that I want to hear a deep exotic note and don't want to do any more bolt-ons than needed because I'm not trying to be the fastest g on the road, I just fear the dreaded drone or cheap sounding engine mod that is commonly found on civics around here...with that being said I only chose to do the axle back exhaust and hfc first because its what's readily available for me without having to hunt it down.... i also want to add cold air intakes but how much value would that add to the build? should i do that sooner rather than later?

The TS axle back should get you a decent tone and good looking tips, be sure to get the beveled tip version.
The 19" coupe wheels are nice IMO, common but still look good. Maybe save those for your winter set and find some lighter weight 19s w/ sticky summer tires for the rest of the year.
Sway bar upgrade, then your drop???

Join the local FB group if you haven't. I'm running Berk HFC + TS axleback so if you attend some meets, you can see how my car sounds with that setup.
Also +1 on the drop first...makes such a big difference on these cars!

While I have the TS axleback on my car, if you are looking for performance improvements, go ahead with the full CBE for best gains. From my understanding, AB is just for tone.
I would say drop first, although I went with axle back first. Reason being is I don't feel like the headache of a dropped car just yet. Alignment, camber, fitment, etc. Maybe I am just being a whimp about it, but I have enjoyed not having to tend to my car so far.
