Opinions on a 13' CPO G'

Hi all,

I've been lurking around this site for a while as I consider my next car to be a G37s.
I found a 2013 G37S 6MT with the right color combo that I've been looking for - it has 23k miles and it's CPO.

They're asking 31k, a little above average but they have that no haggle price ****! I offered 27k which they refused and stood firm on their asking price, w/o a counter. I plan on trading in my current car, (paid off) which I expect to get $15k on trade, and write them a check for the remainder.

I've been looking for a while for this car color combo, not to mention the car is is mint shape and looks like the previous owner took good care of it.

Don't know if this is relevant, but I'm coming from a 2008 VW R32...

Do you guys think it's a good buy??
This will be my weekend car, bcuz I have a commuter Mon-Fri for work.
Any feedback on the price and or the reliability of the car will be much appreciated. I've done some research but anything to add is always welcome.

thanks,

I believe the price may be on the high side but a 2013 with that milage is awesome and the 6MT is a plus for sure. What's the color combo? They aren't willing to budget at all? Try offering $30k lol every dealer has a little wiggle room

30k would still be on the higher end...I'm comfortable with $29k+tx.

Dealer/CPO prices will always be on the high side. Try making another offer, or see if you can get some freebies out of the deal like extended warranty, oil changes, etc. If it's the exact model you want and in good condition, you might have to change your budget.

Price seems, high. I just scooped a 2008 g37s 6mt with 21,450 on it and 9.5/10 cosmetic/mechanical condition for $16.5k....granted it wasn't CPO and was older but the miles are the same. You have a tough choice here.

I think the price is a bit on the high side. I paid 34k for my 12 G37s with only 7000 miles 4 years ago. Your offer 27k sounds relevant with the market.

31k is a bit high, it'd be more appropriate if it were a malbec black IPL vert with red seats.

Tell the dealer that they can either wait until summer to see what the price will do when the new Q60 comes out (hint: they will lose a few G's...pun intended) or they can seriously consider your offer of $27k. If they don't budge, I'd move on. There's better deals out there.

if they wouldn't even talk and budge on the price, this one is an easy pass. be patient (which is tough, i know) and the right one will come across.

I know everyone is telling you to pass, but if it everything you want, then you may have to pay a little bit more. If you were looking for something common, like an automatic, then I would wait. However, you are waiting for a manual which is much less common. I say if it is in perfect condition (what color is it by the way?) then maybe try 30k. If you are in absolutely no rush and don't mind waiting then I would pass too.

Seems really high even for a CPO. Back in October, I was able to get 13 Journey coupe, non-CPO, auto, 29k miles for under $23,000. Loaded with tech, premium, and Sport pkgs. White/black. Seems these cars depreciate quite a bit.

Can you afford it? If yes, trade in your current car and buy the damn thing. Drive it like you stole it, enjoy the heck out of it and never look back!!

Thats IPL pricing. They probably gave the seller mid 20s for the car on trade in or less. Now they just listed it , is my guess , and they are trying to sell it to a sucker. ....Watch the car on Cars.com or Autotrader and the price will drop....then go in and make the offer when it drops below 30. You have to make a good deal on the car because on resale you will get killed.

I just purchased a 2013 G37s with only 18k miles for 25,500. Mine was overpriced too and they would not budge. I waited....as I was searching and test driving other cars and sure enough they dropped the price over a period of 1 to 2 months then I went in and offered them below what I originally offered...

These cars are really reliable so the CPO vs non CPO is less important..IMOP...now if we were talking about a German "made to break down" car then the CPO is worth more.
The risk is of course they sell it and you lose out on the color combination you want....but there are plenty of cars to consider at that price range....so a good deal can only be had if you willing to walk away from it....

For some context, I bought a red on black mint 2013 g37s coupe 6mt with 18k miles a year ago for 28k. Mine was not CPO so you figure that would have added at least 1k to the price. It did take me 4 months to find this car though, as this color combo is nearly impossible to find with low miles in a manual.

That said, I would strongly recommend not paying over 29k for that car as it will instantly be worth closer to 25k if you tired to turn around and sell it.

Price is way high. I just bought a G37xS coupe with 16k miles for $25k in November. Also, if this is at a Carmax or similar, walk away and find another car. Those places do not deal on pricing at all.

13'? I didn't realize they came in different lengths.

Don't let on that you intend to pay cash. They make money from financing. They definitely won't haggle if they think you're going to pay cash. Sure, you'll end up paying a month's worth of interest, but you'll get a better deal.

Also, don't let on that you intend to pay off the note immediately. If you do, they'll offer you a higher rate on the loan than your credit score deserves. The money is in financing these days.

Myles
