Fast intentions resonated Test Pipes
Hi, I recently purchased Fast Intentions Resonated Test Pipes for my 2011 Infinite G37x coupe mostly for sound but i was wondering, am i going to need a tune if i get the test pipes put on?

If you plan to add any more exhaust components & an intake then do that first, the tune will help get the most out of all those parts. You don't NEED a tune but will be beneficial.

I second this, but might add a little more emphasis on the "need". Test pipes will cause your engine to run lean and sometimes throw a CEL or SES light saying your cats have gone bad. I believe the FI pipes have a built-in fix that should eliminate any lights from coming up, but doesn't keep it from running lean. Getting a tune will make sure your engine is running at the proper AFR as well as give you the intended power benefit from your breather mods. Running lean from test pipes alone won't break your engine if you don't get a tune, but it won't be running as well as if you did get one.

So I am running a FI Catback (non resonated) with Motordyne ART Pipes and do not have any CEL or SES issues. I have drone and hearing problems, but that is my own fault/problem. A tune definitely helps gain all that power. I felt that I had no torque or HP until I got the tune done. I don't know how lean the car was running, but it makes sense that you need more fuel dumped due to increased air. I still need to get another tune from my ART pipes, but it feels fine without.
