Suggestions for A New Coupe w AWD

I had a 2010 G37X Coupe up to about a week ago when I wrecked trying to avoid someone that cut me off.

I like the G Coupe and would buy another , however would like to get some suggestions .

I'm looking for a 2 door coupe, with AWD, and looking used under $30K.

Please give suggestions and why I should consider the vehicle.

Thanks for the help.

OH, I need to make a decision, find a car and purchase a car in the next ten days.

not too many to choose from. 996C4 is in that price range, but has the IMS bearing failure hanging over your head. 996 turbo is too much $$, but built like a tank.

BMW X-drive, Audi Quattro, Mercedes 4Matic... i'd be scared of one of these without a long warranty. VW ... absolutely not.

Cadillac CTS

i'll sell you my Evo X, but its a 4 door.

Audi A5, G37xS, Audi TT, and the new Lexus RC 350 is AWD now as well. Not too many affordable options. Audi is notoriously unreliable/expensive to maintain. RC is going to be too new to fit in your budget. G will be your best bet.

Thanks for the reply. I'm leaning toward another G37 coupe but maybe a XS this time. I will say the G is a safe car.

I walked a way with a sore body, bruise above my left eye and scratch/bruise on my right wrist. That was it.

Glad to see that you're okay. This makes me a bit more confident about how safe the G is.

If you don't mind me asking, what exactly happened? It's always interesting to see how many details a person can retain in the split seconds before a collision occurs.

WOW! Glad you are okay.

I haven't found a page on this site with crash pics (like on S2KI or Acurazine) of the G. Its nice to see where and how the airbags deploy on them.

You might consider running that pic on a Stance Nation classified ad site. I'm thinking the positive camber on the rear might generate some interest.

I have no problem explain the accident.

I was traveling into DC on 295 south. I was in the left lane in a slight curve. The car in the right lane cut me off and I slammed on the breaks to avoid from hitting the person. Just as I hit the brakes I hit a pot hole, the rear end of the broke loose and immediately hit the curb and broke the rear axle. The car then shot straight ahead into the guardrail and then slide to a stop.

The steering wheel airbag, the driver side head curtain airbag and the drivers side airbag deployed.

I was a very violent experience but the car did what it was designed to do and protect the occupant of the vehicle.

Thanks for the feedback and well wishes.

Ouch. Very glad you were able to walk away.

If I were in your position, a G37X would be the top choice. Not much else falls into that category and price range. Best bang for your buck.

Everything else is going to be German and either hit or miss in the reliability dept. (Audi A5) or econo-box like (Golf R).

Damn dude, glad you walked away. Its a testament to how well the G s are engineered. The car might be destroyed but you weren't seriously hurt.

On a side not, let em know what you think of this. Idk where you are located but this is car needs a home.

Update. I am expecting to take delivery of a 2012 G37XS Coupe either today or tomorrow.

Thanks again for the suggestions and the well wishes.

Now on to important things.

I am considering Swift springs and Sway bars. So question do I need camber kits for the front and rear with the Swift spring?

Looking to order the suspension in the next week.

Thanks again for your help.

Glad that you weren't seriously injured! Congrats on the new G! Once a car saves your life there is no reason not to go back to it again! Enjoy!!

Have you sat in a Golf R? They're pretty far from being an Econo box. I had a MKV GTI that was loaded with leather and every option before this G and it was no at all like an econobox in the way it drove or felt.

The MK6 Golf R can also make pretty great power with not a lot of money spent.
