Unhappy Hissing/Spewing Sound from Under Car in Rear

I have a 2012 coupe with only 43k on the motor. I am hearing a hissing sound at idle coming toward the rear of the car. I wanted to know how normal that is.

I have seen some threads talked about this, but haven't had any definite answers. I would like to see if anyone else is experiencing something similar, and what it is exactly.

I thought this was an exhaust leak on my 11 xS coupe however when I brought it in under warranty I was told that this is a normal sound made by the fuel pump.

That was my second guess. Didn't know if it was fuel pump either. Its only but so much stuff back there.

But that's 1 for normal. Kind of a relief.

Most likely its your pump. They seem to make quite a bit of noise on these cars. Hopefully my first post was helpful lol

Also, my Bluetooth, heated seats and ipod aux does not work anymore.

Any advice or personal experiences would be greatly appreciated.

Although I have not heard anything abnormal on my vehicle as described in your post, I have seen other threads where people have concluded it was a normal sound of the fuel pump. Is it near the rear wheel of the car?

My car makes a slight hissing sound when I switch from auto to manual mode (my 03 G35, 2008 and my 2012 G37 all did this

This noise accompanied my G as well and it was annoying as hell. The fact that infiniti says this was normal is laughable to say the least.

They would never say that to a new owner.

some ppl just have sensitive ears. turn on the radio or open the window or moonroof to drown out the fuel pump noise. fuel pump noise while in operation is normal. perhaps auto manufacturers should find a way to drown out road noise caused by tires as well.

It is a rather unorthodox noise. None of my previous cars made the noise. Its not that I can even hear it in the car. Its more so concern of if something is failing on the car.

if you are that worried about this abnormal noise you need to take it in to the dealer and let them diagnose what this noise is. since no one here has actually heard it we are just taking a stab in the dark. your car is still under warranty coverage according to mileage and year of manufacture.

No, mine was audible from the driver side of the car every time I entered. It literally sounded like air was escaping from somewhere. Dealer said it was normal. Bleh.

I was about to mention that on my trip to the dealer on monday for low oil. I thought it was due to the muffler shop re-installing my oem exhaust after I played with the sports exhaust.

I might just bring it up anyways and see what they say.
