Are you doing anything special to protect your "bae" for this winter? I already have AWD so I wasn't sure what else to do?
I bought the de-icer liquid for wind shield wipers. A shovel. That's all.

im keeping my Evo for the winter and selling in the spring, since i already have snow tires for it. i winterized the G37 since it will see road salt anyway, even if theres no snow driving this winter.
i applied Fluid Film to the underside of all 3 of our vehicles, and HydrO2 sealant for the paint/wheels. Deicer fluid in the washer tank, and mini jump pack all charged up in the trunk.

How do you apply this? Just spray the car and wipe?

check the detailing forum. i found out about it here - love that stuff.

Mostly any sealant will do the job fine for the winter, most last 4-8 months. You should do any paint correction that's needed (compounding, polishing, claying, etc.) and then apply a quality sealant and a wax over that if you choose.

In all seriousness, is any of this really necessary? I like to keep my car looking nice and clean but don't necessarily have the time or money to go the whole 9 (hydr02, special winter tires and wheels, etc.)

seriously, snow tires are a safety item. i leave work at midnight, and most times the roads arent plowed or salted yet.
sealing protects the paint from winter road salt, undercoating keeps the underside from rusting away, and makes future repairs/mods easier ... no seized and rusted on bolts.

i use Fluid Film for undercoating because it was fairly cheap ($10/can) and i just walked into Lowe's and grabbed some. i was recommended Boeshield T9 (used on aircraft), and it seemed similar, but double the price.
