How many g37 automatic owners out there!!!?

Who else has an automatic?

I know its not the "man" transmission like the manual, but how do you guys feel about having the auto?

My previous cars always had MT. This is the first auto I own(unfortunately 5at).

I like mt but there is nothing "manly" about getting stuck in stop and go , bumper to bumper traffic with a manual.

I'm going to ask this in all seriousness: Why is this a thread? Over 90% of G37s sold in North America are automatic transmissions. So to answer your question, damn near everybody has an automatic transmission. There's a higher percentage of manual transmission owners here on the forum than in the real world because this is a car forum. But almost every G sold is an automatic.

This ^^^^ thousands if not tens of thousands or possibly more

But I know that's not really what you meant. I wish I had a Manual, they are just flat out more fun to drive. Do the convertibles even have a manual option??? I'm not sure. I'd think the IPL vert might have a MT option. But I just don't know. Point being if I had to chose between the driving fun of a Manual vs the badass hard top drop....id choose the drop top every time.

I've heard that a grounding kit can help with shift times...haven't done it yet, but I plan on it. I'm just now getting to the small stuff.

^ you can get the regular vert with a manual transmission, but all of the IPL verts have the 7-speed auto.

btw, nice car. i started following your build when i was shopping for my vert

I have a 7 speed auto, I came from a 6 speed S Coupe and now have my 7speed sedan, well what can o say the auto is boring, I miss the thrill of my 6 speed, 7 speed can have some lag as well that I hate at time even with the updates, only thing I like that's it's comfortable and in traffic it's better than switching gears on and off! I still prefer the manual and would like another manual!

Oh thanks bro! Have you put up any pics of yours yet? I'd love to check it out.

I didn't start my build thread until I felt like I had done enough mods to actually have some "build" to show lol.

The automatic will be fun for some boring for others.
I find the AT as fun to drive as any MT I've driven. But I find that I drive in MM most of the time unless I'm in very heavy traffic.

I've had several manuals and motorcylces in the past and man does shifting in traffic get old fast. I live in Miami FL and driving a manual down here is like having bamboo shoots shoved under your fingernails. Not fun!!!

PS: I drive a 7AT

I replaced my old Firebird with a G37x largely so I could drive it in New Jersey winters without worrying about dying. Needless to say, I have the 7at. Plan is to get a Z06 down the line for manual/weekend fun, but I'm glad my daily traffic warrior is automatic. Can still have some fun with the manual mode.

This. I sold my 6mt G coupe, Picked up a Q50 Sport and regretted it. Picked up a Q60S 6mt and all is back to normal.

I get stuck in traffic all the time here in Orange County. Still prefer to drive a 6mt. Much more fun. And a safer driver now that I'm not playing with my phone 80% of the time when I was driving an Auto. lol
