Grounding kit

Just got done doing the grounding wiring to my G. After careful observation I can say the shifts are faster and more solid. It did not turn it into a twin clutch BMW, but it is noticeable and well worth the 26.00 and the 1 hour effort. The stereo has always sounded good IMO, and it still sounds good. Would recommend doing it just for the fun of working on your car on a nice summer night, and then driving the crap out of it.

I've read a number of posts about shifts being firmer after installing a grounding kit, but I've been wondering -- has anyone ever noticed a difference in shift firmness just by disconnecting the battery for a while and reconnecting it? Wouldn't disconnecting the battery cause the G37's computer to reset its Adaptive Shift Control and so the transmission would shift more firmly until the computer relearns the driver's throttle habits again via its Adaptive Shift Control programming?

I have done that, it changes things a bit but nothing like this. I mean to tell you the shifts are faster for sure, especially if you use the paddles.

Grounding kit

I have one but haven't installed it yet. Looking forward to a positive change in the shift feel though. Seems so sluggish now :-(
But I guess it's to be expected considering what I drove before this car

'09 MINI Cooper S with a stage 2 tune. Granted, I'm comparing apples to oranges in a way as that car was a 5MT, but still....I was not expecting this type of feel while shifting. I was expecting the G and EX to be a bit peppier in the shifting department.

I have only driven one cooper s, while I found out a cool ride I found it to be underpowered. The G offers a more complete driving experience IMO. Granted a MT is the way to go for pure performance, or a dual clutch AT.

I definitely agree about the G being more complete. I have an EX but it's the same feel except with a bigger a$$ lol

The MINI was great when I was done building it. A complete build with every upgrade imaginable. Would definitely get another one to have as a gun car, but I have my heart set on a Datsun Z with an RB motor.

But back to the topic...I'm hoping that I can notice the difference once I install the grounding kit. Everyone else seems to have noticed it, so I'm hoping that I'm not the exception.

Yeah....they'll be going on this month. I'm just trying to get a few more things to throw on the car and I'm debating on adding the Takeda cold air intake (long tube) to the list. Currently have the Stillen Gen 2 but I'm not that impressed.

Glad you're happy with the grounding kit!!
