If the 370z was an option, why the G37S?

If the 370z was an option, why the G37S?
What's up guys! I wanted to ask this question because I am pretty curious as to why others decided to go with the G37S if they were considering the 370z as an option. My previous car was a 2003 350z (I know.....a DE -_-). I was considering several different cars before buying my G37S. My options were 370z, EVO 8/9, STI. I remember always getting jealous of how the G35/G37 looked, especially the rear end, so I always thought my next car would be a G37S. I love my 350z but it felt cheap (mainly the interior) and lacked features. I know the 350z wasn't built for that purpose but still.....rattles? Lol for whatever reason, my mom didn't mind two door cars but the fact that I had a 2 seater as well made me selfish.... Anywho, I've always loved the 370z and to this day still do, I chose the G37 because I felt like it was the better bang for buck. Both cars were very similar (the weight difference was not too major) but the G37S came with way more features. I also wanted to be different, I felt everyone owned or started to own 370z's. Don't get me wrong, I love my G37S! But sometimes I feel like I wish I got a 370z.
What about you guys? Why did you choose the G37S over a 370z (if that was one of your options)

Personally, practically with 4 seats, more "luxurious" feel over both interior and exterior, and a sexy *** (though I don't like the front of the G37, just doesn't look aggressive compared to a BMW 3 series). I didn't do too much research on the 370 but it does seem the G has a lot more luxury features inside, as it should.
The only 2 door car I wanted was a S2000 and I never considered a base 370 or 350, they just don't look aesthetically pleasing to me. However, after the new 370 Nismo......I would definitely consider that over the G37...that thing looks amazing in almost every aspect to me

Same here I still like the 370z myself and when I always see one I still want one, before I bought my 2008 G37 S witch I sold a couple months ago in witch now I have a 2011 37 sedan due to having a baby on the way I almost bought a 2007 350z liquid platinum HR engine but the numbers were high and didn't commit to it anyways long story short a mo or two after I get hit from a drunk driver and flip and totaled my car with her having no insurance and I had liability and got screwed and My car was a 04 Pontiac Grand Prix gtp so I found the 08 G37S coupe and fell in love, thought to myself total upgrade than a 350z I wanted because they were in my mind as well and as soon as I went to go check it out and test drove it I took it home! I didn't like the interior much of the Z even the 370z felt like my Infiniti was much more luxurious and more classy plus performance, I wold get compliments everywhere i went since it was lowers with nice 20in wheels! I still to this day would choose a G over a Z just because of the luxury and the curve lines! I think they still look better than the Z's! I had a 6 speed too so my infiniti was sporty enough!
anyway sorry for the long story but that's the reason why I chose the G over the Z!

Oh wow I missed the s2000, I was actually considering one of those too. They are amazing cars for what they are but I felt like it was too petite for my taste and daily driving. I can agree with you, unless you got the IPL then the G37 front end isn't very aggressive. Although, I don't think the BMW 3 series front end is that aggressive either.....now the M series.....that's a different story! I feel the 370z after it's modded up, kills the G37 in the looks department....man a good looking Amuse 370z! That new nismo 370z is jaw dropping as well!

I did consider the 370z prior to the purchase of my G37. I shared several of the reasons you mentioned above: the luxury is important to me two seats in the rear for occasionally driving family when they visit. I do prefer the way Infiniti looks aesthetically as well.
But, one of the biggest reasons was all wheel drive as the vehicle is driven in the winter.

The 370Z was too small for me and my knees hit the steering wheel, so I didn't have enough leg room. I didn't have this issue with the G37 coupe as the steering wheel telescopes. I also like the way it looks, plus the insurance was cheaper.

When I was shopping for a 370Z vs G37 coupe, I found that on average the 370Z with leather was about 2k more expensive than a G37 coupe. So, though I prefer the styling of the Z, the blind spots (being slightly worse) and the cost for leather made me go with the G. Do I regret? Meh...the Z is nice and I'd love one, but I'm definitely not upset with the G

I weighed them back and forth for about 6 months... In the end I chose the G because it did have back seats, a waaaaayyyy nicer interior, not as many blind spots, cheaper insurance, more luxurious and more mature feel... Plus I only wanted a black 6spd G coupe S, or a white 6 Spd nismo.... And I found a great deal on a G that fit what I wanted first, fully loaded. Also I factored in less cop attention in the G. And then last week, a year later, my gf bought a Z...... So now technically I kiiinda have both lol I just can't mod the Z
