Q60S sunroof deflector on G37
In the attached image, you can see the Q60S have a different sunroof air deflector than the G37's solid bar design.
Anyone know if they are compatible with each other? The wind noise from the newer design should be much less noisy for the interior. My previous bimmer had it this way and I noticed that the new Q50 had this design. I didn't know they put it in the Q60 too.
The old solid part # is 91280JL03A but I haven't found the new one yet.
edit: new part # is 912801PM1A
The rail assembly part #s changed too. I wonder how much different it is. Anyone with a Q60 coupe willing to take a few closer pictures? I know part # changes sometimes just has to do with different OEMs, not necessarily compatibility.

I came across the "newer" air deflector found on the 2014-2015 Q60 on eBay and took a chance. Part #: 91280-1PM1A. With a coupon I had it cost around $54 and took about 1 week to ship from the UAE (United Arab Emirates). Initial findings:
1. The newer deflector is completely plastic. It is slightly narrower in height which gives the deflector a lower profile from the roofline. In other words it does not stick up as high.
2. Install took all of 10 minutes. One screw and clip from each side, deflector slides right out.
3. It is a lot quieter than the original. Due to the narrower profile and the notches there is less interference with the airstream, thus less noise. I can hear the music coming from the headrest speakers a lot clearer than before.
So, in case anyone was wondering: Yes, the newer air deflectors work fine. Is it worth the ridiculous price? No. But if you find a bargain- and you use your sunroof A LOT- something to consider.
EDITED 16 Sep. 2023 to add pictures: I can not believe it has been more than 4-years since I did this mod and never realised I did not post pics. Ah well, for posterity, here are some:
