Is this car some sort of Race Magnet?

Ever since I've gotten this car everyone wants to race or show that their car is superior. Like today I'm cruising on the highway going about 65 MPH and this Subaru STI about 2004 comes launching out of no where I saw it through my rearview mirrors and drives along me and just launches off and the 2 dudes were laughing. The other day this Modded Mazda 3 comes revving at the stop light and launches crazy. The car's that I've encountered doing this mostly Hyundai Genesis, Subaru WRX STI, Mazda 3, Acura TL, A lot Scions FRS, TC.. What are your guys thoughts on those car, are they better than the G37/Q60?

Makes me want to mod my car like crazy.

Many people find the look of our cars to be very sporty and assume that it's performance is more than it is, that it's more expensive than it is, or that we as drivers are the street racing type. I think many of us have had similar experiences. I'm old enough to be mildly flattered or slightly amused but not very interested and simply ignore it and drive on. Most of them are not the type that you'll ever see lined up beside you at test and tune on Friday nights at the local drag strip which is a shame.

Yes, these cars do get some of that attention. I imagine it's not as bad as some other cars, but there is definitely a sizable crowd of people who feel like they have something to prove.

Since you are a new member, I'll just let you know that this thread is on the very edge of what's acceptable here as far as talking about street racing. Just make sure you don't go into any details about accepting these challenges, outcomes, etc.

An aftermarket exhaust will attract many more racer boys simply because they'll be able to tell their friends they smoked a "heavily modified G37".

hahahahaahhahahahahahah.... hahahaahahahahhahahhah THIS is awesome. welcome to the G life my good sir!! RACE DEM tbh our cars are pretty quick, most of those cars you mentioned dont even come stock with at least 300HP ours come between 318-330 (if you have the 2008 model) so pretty much our cars are already faster than theirs right off the floor lol most of them are ricers and appear to look fast when really all they have is probably flow masters on their slab, make us proud young padawan and defeat our enemies haha jk for real though

Hmm, I haven't encountered this at all. My car is bone stock though.

When I had Maxima's/I30 it seemed like people were trying to street race me quite often.

Figures, now that I have a quicker car, the ricers leave me alone.

When I had my G35 coupe, I got hit up a lot by other G coupes. Most of them automatics. Doing ricer flybys or driving fast cutting lanes etc etc.

When I had a 370z it rarely happened, but now since I got the G37 about 2 months ago these tuned cars are revving at me, getting side by side and just taking off. I live in FL so it may be a thing they do around here with their ricer vehicles.

I don't street race...but most of the time I'm first at the light, I take off like a bat out of hell. It doesn't matter who's beside me, I just gun it, and the AWD just goes...not a single tire bark.

I can't imagine a Mazda 3 keeping up with that.

I've had many people appear to try to one-up me when I'm driving around, but I just ignore it. This often happens in heavy city traffic; they'll be driving along normally, and as soon as the see my car go past them, they MUST get ahead of me. They suddenly speed up and start changing lanes multiple times to gain as much ground on me as possible. The usual suspects are Mustangs, Camaros and strangely enough, Infiniti FX35s. I think these drivers hear my exhaust and feel like they need to show off that they're faster and better than me.

As Adrian stated: Welcome to the G Life! Happened quite often with my 07 G35S and happens even more with my 13 IPL. Now I may entice them a lil bit.....but when the light turns green I let "them" fly out while I just sit back and laaaaaaaaauuuugggh. If they "really" wanted a crack at the G they'd try their luck on the track.....but we all know that won't happen!
