Brand new leftover 2013
The dealer near me has a leftover 2013 G37X coupe that only has 31 miles. Never sold. The car fax says they sold it in April 2013 31 miles then Jan 2015 vehicle offered for sale 31 miles. The sale fell thru and it got forgotten about. I bought a car like this 12 yrs ago. That i got a great deal on.
Comments: THIS VEHICLE IS BRAND NEW AND HAS NEVER BEEN TITLED. MSRP $48695. SALE PRICE INCLUDES ALL DEALER INCENTIVES $37176. The best they will go is $36990.
Is this a reasonable price or can i do better? I can wait. No big deal. Longer it sits they will have to drop the price

For me .... I would pass. The instant you drive your brand new car off the lot it's 2 years old already. Dealers don't just "forget" about a cars, there is a reason it hasn't sold in 2 years ..... you just need to figure out why.

As of now I've passed.

Definitely your call, at least the warranty starts from the day you sign the papers, maybe they could add some time to the warranty to make the deal
The car hasn't had any major, significant changes up to the current model so if you like it, and sounds like you're doing your homework then I'd say go.
But Gman's points are valid, forgetting a $40k depreciating asset isn't likely.

With the upcoming major redesign, I've heard $10-$11K off MSRP on a 2014-2015 is attainable if you are not too picky on color combination. This 2013 has a story. The only thing that gets forgotten at a car dealership is common decency

I bought my 2013 G37x Coupe with Premium and Navigation packages new in September of 2013 for $38,600. This makes me feel like after a couple more years of sitting, they could work on the price a little more for you.
If you plan to keep the car for a while, it is a great deal since you get a new car at a fraction of the price you would pay for a 2015 Q60 that has nearly identical features.
If you plan to only keep the car for a couple years, you will get penalized when you go to trade it in since in 2 years, your new car will depreciate 4 years of value, etc.

I just went to KBB to look up the used car value for a 2013 G37X coupe, with just 31 miles, complete with Premium and Tech package options, and in excellent condition, and found that the max resale value for a private party sale (which is the highest possible), is only $28,839. The dealer trade-in value was just $26,959.
I should note that I chose a random NY zip code, so these numbers may vary in other locations, but certainly not by that much.
If you are interested in the car, then definitely low ball the dealer, because the second you drive it off the lot, it's only worth 28,839 MAX! The dealer will spout a bunch of BS about how there is extra value in the car because the car has never been titled, but who gives a @%#&, it certainly ain't worth 8-10 grand!!!
As has been said, there IS a reason this car has not sold, and that alone could explain it.
EDIT: If there is any doubt as to the "real" value of this car, it would be very interesting to see what a bank would allow for financing it. My guess is that they'd never loan more than the KBB numbers, and probably even less.

Right now I have a 2010 G37 base coupe (rear drive only) with only 36k miles in good shape that I love.. But I'd like the AWD and extra goodies esp in this winter in NJ we have had and in rain.

I may also just wait for the new re-design to buy, however many times a great deal can be found on the previous outgoing generation vs the new... the new is untested as to reliability, where as we know all the issues on the current coupe.

What extra goodies will you get with this base X model? Maybe if it was a XS model. Why not save your money and buy your current G37X some goodies, and a set of dedicated winter wheels/tires?
