$5k is $138+ a month extra just for GPS over a 3yr car note. GPS is a big profit margin to the dealer/mfg. Remember $500 portables of 5 yrs ago? Today they are $99. Yet the car mfg haven't dropped their prices that much. Yes, to each their own. Yes, I can afford it.. We spend our $$ diff.

It's probably because everyone has the same mentality. It's old stock and so the incentive should be high (really high because 2013). But then you need to know that the full warranty is still intact. $33k is pretty warm but then they just rip you off at your trade in so it's back to square 1 again.

Definitely subscribed to see how this play out Good luck!!!

Time will tell.
Simple. Sell your car to Carmax and take the check to Infiniti and take them up on their price of $32,500.

^ I have used this several times in a negotiation to get the dealer to up the trade-in price. In Texas you want trade-in because the sales tax is reduced by the amount of the trade-in. E.G., 6.25% of a $25k trade-in saves you $1562 in sales tax. If you sell it yourself, you don't have that.

Same here in Illinois for the tax, that's a good point. If a dealer won't match a Carmax quote that's not expired, then be suspicious. They can take the car and certificate and sell the car themselves after making the sale. My buddy just bought his G37 and they matched the Carmax quote without looking at his car or driving it. They said they were going to go sell it after the sale.

The dealer is now telling me the full warranty is NOT intact, as I figured, it sold with 15 miles in April 2013, now it has maybe 30 miles.. They also have it for sale on their used section of their website. They are still using the BS line that it's a new car.. (It's not, it's a 2013) that was sold in April 2013. They will still not budge on the $32,500. Good news is I got them to offer me $2k more for my car... we are getting there slowly...

Exactly.. It's 7.00% tax here in NJ.

trade in value?

What figure do think the dealer should give me for a trade in? 2010 Infiniti G37 Coupe, base model, rear drive, only 36k miles, good shape. Edmunds says $16,830 to $17,902, I do have some scratches on bumpers, still in good shape. Of course the dealer doesn't take Edmunds, KBB, NADA, etc... They go by the Galv book? They told me $14,500, LOL! Pound salt.

Now I got them up to $16,500, they won't go up any further. I checked with 2 other dealers, they will offer same or less..

Get a quote from Carmax, they are free. If Carmax offers you more than $16,500, it's the perfect negotiation tool because the dealership can take the certificate that is valid for a week and sell the car for that number guaranteed while you reap the tax savings. If Carmax, and all the other dealers you go to offer you less than $16,500, it appears you are getting at or above market trade in value and should be good to take the deal.

Yes! I called Infiniti Corporate Consumer Affairs who told me it's up to the Dealer (not them) if it gets the full new car warranty? The dealer now admits it's not full warranty, but are still touting the BS line that it's a practically new coupe, only 30 miles and will not budge from the $32,500. I have walked away, I will monitor it.. curious to see how long it sits.

On an interesting side note.. this dealer has another car, 2012? with 13k miles G37XS coupe that has sat nearly 20 months as well... based on the car fax search, LOL!
