i dont care so much about the horsepower but rather the torque. That is really going to make a difference. The G35 sedan (07-08) was 305 hp and 260ish TQ, the G37 was 328hp and 267 (i might not be 100% accurate on those figures). How much faster is the G37 over the G35? Also the power curve is a big deal.

Absolutely. If this car stock can do 350+ lb.ft. at 2000 rpm's (give or take)....whoa nelly. FUN FUN. Regardless of the weight. It would simply be more fun with less weight...

I had a 2007 G35 Coupe with the Sports package. Loved it.
I had a 2011 G37XS Coupe. Loved it.

I am now in a 2015 QX50 and while it's been an adjustment, am really enjoying

I've been anxiously awaiting release news on this vehicle, so this is all pretty exciting.

Beautiful car. Excellent advances in power (especially the torque), interior, lessened wheel gap, etc.

I am wondering what the exhaust will sound like. My QX50 has none of that wonderful Coupe exhaust note, which does make me sad on a daily basis.

If the AT is slow shifting and not any fun or the car weighs so much it hurts it's performance I'm pouncing on the ///M2. That sucker is nearly fully loaded at a base price of $51,700 and it has a MT!

2016 BMW M2 Coupe (F87) Rel 2016-01-08 - PricingGuide_Retail.pdf

Can't believe it essentially comes fully loaded for that price! Real leather, navi, back up cam, and ofcourse no need for a sports package on an M car. If you price out an m235i it essentially costs the same with those options. Interior is a bit meh but this is a really good deal.

And this car has at least 40 more hp that the next closest competitor. I think you'll be ok considering you made do with 'just' 330hp all along.
400hp will be more than enough for sporty driving.

Yet your claim about the power to weight ratio is wrong, for a car weighting 3700-3800 pounds actually there are plenty of v8' around these days.

Example? New Camaro ss , weights LESS (mid 3600) and it has an amazing V8 that has more torque across the whole powerband.

400hp is actually pushing a 3 liter TT engine, you can get much more HOWEVER it will reduce its lifespan drastically.

Oh well it is good that we have so many choices today...

Jag expects 20% of its F-Types sold in North America will be a 6MT.

Give me $90k and force me to spend it on cars... I'd much rather have one of these Jags than two of these Nissans.

I'm still nursing a completely unfounded hope that a future IPL will offer a manual. And that the mid-model refresh, or the mod market, will clean up some of the awkward bits. Time will tell. I got nothing but time, and will continue to enjoy my modded sedan until I don't anymore.

You can always cite the outliers, buy by and large the numbers are dwindling. That's why this topic is even a thing, because a car that people want with a manual isn't common anymore. I could name a whole lot more cars dropping manual transmissions than keeping/adding them.

And I'm guessing that one will be offered within 2-3 years, depending on sales numbers.

Yep. All that is reasoned opinion. I don't disagree.

What you say is correct. Also with government mandates for car manufacturers to increase fuel efficiency, manual transmissions unfortunately do not help this cause.

Sad thing is, I really like the looks of this car but I'm a manual trans guy. So unfortunately it looks like I will part ways with Infiniti/Nissan in the not too distant future as I'm not waiting 2-3 years for a maybe.

I was wondering what the new exhaust from the twin turbo will sound like also! I have loved the VQ exhaust on my '08 G coupe and can pick out the sound of a VQ engine from a mile away. So I hope they are able to reproduce the tone with the new engine!

I don't know about that. Real world experience tells me 6mt gets better MPG.

(Comparing my Q50 Sedan to my Q60 coupe). Same driving conditions, same destinations, same driver, same gas. Just different car. Avg just 17mpg for the Sedan and 19mpg for the coupe. 80/20 city / hwy driving.

** I'm just using what it says on the nav screen **

Yeah, I know what it's says on paper, but nope. Hasn't been true for me.

But are we really buying these cars for MPG? lol NOPE!

For about 70k, you can get a Lotus. Cousin just bought one. 6mt. Hella flashy though. I want something less flashy.
