Q60 Final Teaser - Revealed in Detroit
#1336
I recall Nissan didn't have any plans yet for the next gen Z, but after doing some Google'n it looks like the next Z is currently being developed. I love the idea of a Z with the 3L TT, but I also believe that if that car is to move forward it wont be out for a couple of years. Also, I'm not sure it will even be offered with the 3L or just a 2L TT.
I test drove a 2011 Z back when I was in the market and loved the characteristics of the car. The only reason I didn't buy it (aside from giving up back seats, a large trunk, etc.) was because it had too much NVH for me. Hopefully they address that in the new version, hopefully...

For the record, years ago I almost got a 350Z, but I knew that if my 350G was too tight ( I'm 6' 6"" and all legs ) that the Z would cripple me. Also had a first-gen 240SX coupe which I loved, and I'm sorry I ever sold it. Oddly enough, I had plenty of room in that one..........

The VQ37 in 6MT fashion is very coarse at 5500+ rpms and all the way until redline.
It creates resonance thruout the cabin. You dont understand what NVH is until you drive a Honda or a Toyota with a V6. The RPM needle just flies up so smoothly and you dont feel a damn thing. This NVH is gone in the Q50 and Im sure it will be non-existant in the new Q60.
Because 3 liter.

As it's been pointed out... Noise, Vibration and Harshness. The Z is poorly insulated so in the cabin you hear everything from little pebbles bouncing around in the wheel well to the drone of the tires. After a 20m drive I had a little headache from all the NVH. The G on the other hand doesn't have that issue as it's more refined.

NVH is not only road noise but engine noise/ drivetrain vibration.
Its quite a bit better in the AT as the MT has more direct linkage.
In the Z you definitely hear more noise. To me, it wouldn't be so bad if the sound was more refined stock. The G is much quieter.
I would expect that the Q60 will have much reduced NVH with a more refined drivetrain and insulation similar to the Q50. It also seems that in many cars turbos smooth the sound out a bit

LOL, yes, these pics are very very distorted! That is why we really won't know what the car really looks like until the unveil on the 11th at the auto show.

2-1/2 days and we can finally see the car from good angels as well as the interior. I hope they release all figures and pricing; this stringing along BS game that all the manufacturers are playing (thanks Apple) is so annoying.
