i'm very keen to check out the mid-cycle-refresh of the Q50 with the new powertrains. i have no interest in the 2L 4-cyl turbo, but the 3L turbo V6 (300hp) could be a great candidate. the 'Red Sport' trim with 400hp twin turbo 3L V6 will likely be priced beyond what i can justify for the overall package - unless of course the 6MT reappeared only in that trim. heck, i'd be thrilled if the 6MT returned in any of the packages...although i doubt that would sell me on the 2L turbo. the coupe Q60 will get a 6MT so you never know...
a test drive would tell the story, but my guess is that even the 300hp turbo 3L would at least keep pace with our 328hp G37's until higher speeds (think: bmw 335 (300hp), but it's a bit lighter). the torque value will likely more than make up for a dip in hp - at least around town and under 5k rpms. which is where we spend 95% of our time. also, available tunes could make things even more interesting for the new turbo engines.
i'm not a fan of the '17 Q60 side profile or rear, and as some have mentioned the front and rear looked pinched or squished to me.

Wake me up, am I dreaming. When did all of this come about? I guess I was too involved in the Floor Mats thread pay attention :-)
Right, with the Turbo, there will definitely be an ECU upgrade that unlocks another 40HP or so.....could be interesting.
It will most likely be quicker than the current G, but seriously, our cars hit 60 in 5 ticks with very little effort, so even if this one can hit 60 in 4 ticks, will it matter that much? The current sedan is a very simple/proven package, so I'm not ready to kick it out of bed this early on.
I like that Infiniti has decided to push the envelope a little. DAS as an option makes this one a reality for me in the future (would not consider a Q50 otherwise).

I'm happy to see that someone is bringing blue back...White, Black and Silver needs some company.
That's a gorgeous blue. Still miss my Twilight Blue 2004 sedan. The Twilight Blue Coupe from 2004 is still one of my all time favorites.

I like the front fenders on the benz, on the infiniti coupe, however, makes the car look wider/"to wide" for my taste. Love the entire back of the car. IMO they could've pulled a Wald body look on this car with ease, but may start to look a bit like a benz/bmw mash up.

Buy with your head and not your heart .... make sure your German car is under warranty (and you have the time to deal with it). I too love the look of the Benz but have to keep slapping myself to remind me to stay away from German.

and i had a g35 and q50 sedan. both cars has been at the dealership for all sorts of issues.
The Q50 had problems after the problems. The G35 was more of a upkeep visit. Good thing I had the extended warranty. From leaking sparkplugs, cracking compression rod bushings, leaking rear sub frame, popping sunroof sounds, failing door lock mechanism, door seal cracking, etc.
Good thing it didn't burn oil. 6mt revup
point is, it takes money to play. Just be thankful we get loaners. people who buy BMWs aren't complaining as much about Maintenance as the G35 coupe drivers are about gas prices. lol
Can't wait for the 3.0T Q60 drivers posting if they can run 87 octane lol. "but cars nowadays are smarter, we can run cheap fuel all we want. we have anti knock sensors and the car will tune itself to run cheaper fuel" is the excuse I hear a lot.

So you are saying German cars are as reliable as Japanese? Good luck with that ... any new car and platform, regardless of the make is always an unknown.
But back on topic, I don't think the spy pics or the details released help everyone much. We all are dying to see pictures not taken with a 800mm lens and more meat behind the numbers.

There are a lot of Blues being offered. Just went to the auto show in SF this past weekend and it seemed as though every car maker had a blue car showing along with some new blues...like the Iridium. Gonna be nice

Well we have about a month or so until the auto show and we get to see accurate pics/video, interior and hopefully we will have hp/tq numbers, though I doubt they will tell us at the auto show what the engine output options will be. The spy pics are quite distorted in some pics but overall I can tell it will look quite amazing in real life.
