I think with a new car they should improve the engines. So to me, the base should at least be more HP/TQ than what we currently have espicially since they are using FI. I think a base model should be no less that 375hp and maybe 350tq with a bigger boost in those numbers for the IPL or whatever it may be called when its debuted

So since we are getting Turbo 6s and awds again, is it safe to say the Skylines/Skyline GTRs are coming back?

Anyone see what I did there?

Anyways, if the Low output 300hp variant is at 295 TQ then thats an improvment. The 07-08 G35 had 306 hp and the 09+ G37 had 328 hp and how much quicker are they really since they only had 269 lbs and 270lbs respectfully? Around .1-.2 secs on paper. So these new engines aren't a step back, (ignoring the 4 cyl but thats still more than the abomination that is knowns as the G35)

Now if I cant wait for the tuners to get ahold of these and squeeze them for more power.

i'd expect that much from a 4 cylinder these days.

This options makes no sense. Might as well make this an upgraded 3.7 NA motor.

For those of us who don't want to deal with turbos.

Oh, and not 6mt? looks like I might just buy out my Q60S lease or go with another car. Maybe the 2017 Genesis? Or the upcoming Supra?

Everyone acting like Nissan/Infiniti don't know how to make turbos. I guess they forgot the following engine families

CA Series
MR Series
SR Series
RB Series
TD Series
YD Series
VG Series
VR Series and all the others that I forgot.

I have no doubt in the new turbo engine as nissan has proven they know how to make a high power reliable turbo, GT-R being one of them. So this new Q60 and the engine going into it have me pumped to get it in my garage.

So am I. Best believe that when the 3.0t Q50s come out. I'm putting one of each on a lift side by side with one of the techs (car nut like me) and we are gonna see what's what.

Turbo cars don't have a good history of being reliable. I mean look at BMW, Audi, etc. etc.

And please don't compare a mass produce engine with a hand built one like the GT-R. And even those cars have issues. Like the crappy DCT overheating. Wouldn't be an issue if they made a 6MT GT-R.

And Nissan couldn't even make a rev-up motor right. lol

I'll wait for the 2nd year model. (If they come with a manual).

You mean German Turbo engines. Ford, Volvo, GM, Honda, Nissan, Fiats, heck even the Koreans have turbos now and these arnt the turbo engines of the 90s. Turbo teck has come along way. Look at the Diesel engines, those go 200+ most the time. And how different are they? Next 10-15 years are gonna be dominated by turbo engines then electric engines after that.

And what's wrong with the Rev up engine? Last I recall there was no massive recall on that engine nor did it suffer from massive problems. Matter of fact, it was in awards top 10 for many years. Sure there where engines that had weak piston rings which resulted in some oil burning thru but it was only a blip on the History of the VQ35. Seen quite a few VQs with high milage and not a single issue. Matter fact I'm thinking of picking up a 05 G35 with 175k on Monday for a DD. The deal is too good to pass up.

Look up any top 10 cars rated for reliability. I don't think I've seen one with turbos.

But I get it. Performance - Good Price- Reliable. We can only pick 2.

I've been driving a turbo car for 8 years now and have yet to have any turbo issues. Ever. I even have a tune which pushes it well beyond what it's meant to handle, no issues. But as I said, it's reliable at smokin' non-turbo cars all day long.

Right off the bat, I predict the following:
1) Overheating
2) Bad smell
3) Oil Consumption
