I'd be surprised to see a high powered Infiniti that comptetes with the m4 c63 RCF, RS, etc.
I'd see the Infiniti have an option close to the 435i, S line of Audi, etc. which isn't really high power. My guess you have that option and a small turbo like a 2.0. If you get into the m4/RCF category you're talking a 70k+ price tag which isn't going to happen.
I'd be thrilled to see a good attractive looking car with the turbo and a stock 0-60 in 5 seconds. Then...the capability to tune the car like you can with the BMW 435. That's a perfect scenario.

All I know is that the Force will Awaken in Dec. Delivery is supposed to be March-ish. The Darkside will have a more powerful engine but is that a v6 with 350hp vs a v6 with 300hp or a v6 with 400hp vs a 340hp v6 in the light side. That is unclear right now.
Non star wars talks. I have heard both a NA 3.0 V6 and a 3.0TT or 2 3.0TTs with different outputs. My guess would be different turbocharger sizes and or tunes for the latter? Maybe DI vs no DI for the former? But I wouldn't expect 2 completely different engines since they are new and the cost of the brand new engines makes no sense. My theory on modular engines comes into play hear.

That's kind of what Ford did with the Mustang. They still offer the old NA V6, the new turbo 4 and an updated V8. Personally my guess is Infinti will offer two engines in the beginning; a 2.0L turbo 4 as the base motor and an optional V6 turbo as the higher output engine. I can also see them tuning the V6 turbo to make an even higher output engine to compete with the M3/4 and c63 AMG, but my guess is that higher output engine would be at least a year out after the new Q60 goes into production.
If I were to speculate further I'd say all engines will have direct injection. The turbo 4 banger would be putting out around 230-250hp, the turbo V6 around 330-350hp and the even higher output turbo V6 400-430hp. I'm just not buying all the rumors that the standard turbo V6 will be putting out around 400hp from the start. It just doesn't make sense and closes the gap between the standard model and a sportier model. Again, this is all purely speculation.

Why would someone pay an extra 30k or so to buy a car with the same engine with the only difference being a tune. When it comes to tunes that's like a simple 500 mod, especially an FI car. They would need to do what BMW does with the 435's N55 engine and the M4's s55 engine. It just wouldn't make sense.

I think info will come out in Dec and production details in Jan at the Detroit Auto Show. For both the Q50 and Q60. Funny no mention of Transmission changes tho......

I don't think 3.0 NA is happening. 300hp on a NA 3liter will only happen with a very high rev and shtty low end torque (see 200hp 2 liter brz) which will suck.
If light a 2 liter turbo option will make sense and a TT 3 liter option would be great for those who are after performance. I don't know about the reliability though , turbo engines have the reputation of having a short lifespan.

The Q50 will have three engine choices.
I-4 2.0 Turbo
V6 3.0 Twin Turbo
Hybrid
It is extremely doubtful Q60 Coupe will have the hybrid setup, but it will have the other two.
