I actually thought it looked much better in person than in the flesh. It's substantially "chunkier" in design than the 2nd gen and it makes the whole car look more taunt, beefy and visually smaller as well.
RS3 coming to the U.S. now, packing the TTRS' 5 cylinder 400hp engine. Guess the AWD sedan guys now have something else to look at. I've not driven a 3 series yet but I'd imagine it's substantially smaller than the Q50.

i dont know what you are talking about. the crescent tapered at the end is a nice touch in my opinion, it accents the aero form of the coupe. The smooth elegant curve ending in a sharp, pointed tapering. I dont think Infiniti was copying the Genesis, its a signature design relative to all their other cars as well.
the 60's design also looks newer and much more aggressive than the 35's. especially the front, and the tail lamps are sharper and more elegant as opposed to the broad structure on the 35.

While I like the Q60s design (aside from that awful rear window kink), I think that for the time that they came on the scene, the G35 was the nicest looking of the 3 coupe models Infiniti has produced. While I had a G37, I never loved the design.

Yeah that maybe true, but if q60 enthusiasts push their luck, maybe a company can develop one for a fair amount, and if they do they would make it big in the q60 aftermarket scene.
Like how AMS built the best aftermarket VR twin turbo engine and they sell their custom built block separately on their website. It's like 2-3 grand, and it was AMS, not Nissan, that developed the fastest VR engine at 2000HP

This is all because of aftermarket companies, they can make an aftermarket DCT for fitment into the Q60 if they so choose to work on it and make a fair priced package out of it. It is possible if any of those aftermarket companies are willing to fill the 6MT, DCT vacuum that Nissan has produced by releasing the VR powered Q60 as a 7AT.
We all know that the VR is a formidable twin turbo V6 engine, and that the Q60 has a potential monster under its hood. It's just the transmission needs to be quicker and faster to bring that VR out even more. And only the Aftermarket can do that. Just as the aftermarket created this 2000HP "everything killer" AMS Nissan GTR.
With all the aftermarket availability for the Q60's VR, there will be a transmission vacuum for it, and whoever fills that vacuum is going to be well applauded. Anyone further boosting this already factory twin turbo will not be sticking with the stock 7AT and will look for faster trannys in the DCT or the more sport engaging 6MT.

Nissan did the same thing with the G35 and G37 by not giving more powerful turbo charged models. They just tweeked the NA VQ to 330-348 HP. That created a vacuum for single turbo, twin turbo, and super charger upgrades from the aftermarket.
This time Nissan gave us a potentially powerful twin turbo VR but created a vacuum for the tranny...good job Nissan (insert troll face).

I read an article on Autonews that the QX70(FX) and Q70(m) are getting updated possibly with the VRs and that the Q80 is going to make it into production. All 3 will be out in 2019 along with a new QX80 by 2020.
Who knows how true that is tho.

A twin turbo set up + ATTESA ETS AWD was a R34 Skyline GTR. that's why only the aftermarket can save the day here, like they did with the G37 and G35.

Here are some quick pics of the Q50 in Iridium Blue with Gallery White interior and the optional 19 inch wheels. Apparently Infiniti knows the White will stain easily so they got you covered with Leather cleaner.

I will say that I still think it's a bit nose(y). But blacking out the chrome on the grill makes a difference.

Idk, white on red, silver on red, gray on red or red on black look good.
Heck even Blue on Red would look good.
I just want a red on tan hurracan if I'm honest.

Why you never buy first ones of new any thing. Saw this on the Q50 forum.
We have had a number of 300/400hp MY16 q50 cars throw the accessory drive belt off of the engine at very low mileage. Sometimes on the first or second day of ownership. We are now using PLASTIC power-steering, belt tensioner and idler pulleys on these engines. When the belt comes off. It irreparably damages the pulleys. The pulleys are in short supply and have been difficult to obtain causing vehicle to be out of service for an extended length of time.

THE ROOT CAUSE OF THIS ISSUE IS MISALIGNMENT OF THE A/C COMPRESSOR WHEN IT IS INSTALLED ON THE ENGINE AT THE FACTORY. This misalignment causes the belt to eventually walk off the pulleys. This problem has already been countermeasured on the production line.

There have already been instances where dealer techs have replaced the belt and pulleys only to have it happen AGAIN because they were not aware of the A/C compressor misalignment issue. This issue will undoubtedly be the subject of a TSB. In the meantime please forward the attached power-point presentation to your dealers and instructions them to follow these procedures if they encounter any MY16 Q50 3.0 twin turbo* with this problem.

The g35 and g37 have had such an aftermarket scene either more or equivalent to the Z that if companies are basing aftermarket popularity with only a Z they will be losing a lot of business.
