What were you reading... it was 5.30(VQ37) vs 5.35(VR30TT) to 60. They are pretty much dead even. And where have you seen a VQ37 do 0-60 in 4.5 seconds? I REALLY want to know.

Do your homework ... German cars are nice, they are more expensive to have work done on and after 5 years ... all bets are off. I had a car (a Sterling) that had tons of issues, they were under warranty but that doesn't take away from the hassle you as an owner have to go through, etc to get it worked on. It's very hard when you see German cars not to let your heart take over your head, I find myself often thinking about a BMW or Benz.

I never had issues with my Porsche or BMW. Both heavily modded. GT-R has also been great, Infiniti was flawless as well. Some cars will have issues, some won't. You're not going to go 0-60 in mid 4's with the g37 or new Q, unless FI. Those corrected times are very bad.
Don't let the little sayings about German cars deter you. Owning a turbo Porsche or a high end German car is fantastic. They are awesome. RS or S Audi is cool. Nice cars.

With that being said, Audi used to be (before 2008) the worst in terms of reliability that was why there were so many cheap, used Audi's in "good condition" back then. Although electronics failed in BMW's too at least with preventative maintenance you could avoid most of the mecanical issues in a BMW and their inline 6's used to be very though (assuming you changed water pump , radiator belts and oil in time that is). So if you were handy a BMW was actually not expensive to maintain. On the other hand there was no concept of preventative maintenance for Audi's even if you are handy. They simply fail and need extensive/expensive repairs.
Buy the Audi if there is a warranty on it otherwise don't risk it.
In terms of reliability turbo's used to be a real problem Japanese or not. I know it from Subaru turbos, their engines used to fail miserably.
For the new direct injection turbo setups though, I think an Infiniti will have similar reilability as a BMW. So far it seems these new turbo direct injection setups are reliable (BMW used to have the fuel pump issue in E90's but I haven't heard anthing similar in F30 )

The reliability arguments here are made for the vehicles 6 years or older so we don't know how reliable the new generation German cars are. I strongly believe that they are much more reliable than their older versions.

At least I didn't claim it was doing 3.5 seconds from a youtube clip doing a rolling start. lol
Never the less, it was still .05 faster than the Turbo.

The G37 is 330 HP over the 3.0t's 300 HP. So i guess the 30 extra horse power and 64 lbs less weight makes it slightly faster than the twin turbo model.
But if you wanted more power out of the G37, you need to get its VQ rebuilt and strengthened to handle turbo. Nissan was obviously trying to give the VQ as much power as possible with just a NA setup, and without needing turbos. And they did really good squeezing out 330HP from just a NA VQ. So the G37 was never built for turbo application.
But tuners will obviously say that it is much easier to work with a car that comes turbo from factory, because the building and strengthening of the engine is already factored into its design, and therefore much easier and cheaper to upgrade in terms of more power. Which is what gives the 3.0t's VR30DDTT an edge over the G37's VQ37VHR.
So stock yea the G37 is slightly quicker, but the aftermarket is going to be a different story.

Thank You for all the input guys. I love my 08 G37S, but want something new. I did enjoy driving the new coupe, but for sure the 08 was faster. I felt the gears kick in real quick. I work in the Health Field, but enjoy cars. I'll look into the 2016 S5 dual clutch awd 7 year Audi Warranty car.

..So I am in a Q50 RS 400 loaner today. When I test drove one prior, I test drove it in a very spirited manner such as if I were at a track or on extremely rare occasions on the street. At that time I thought it drove and handled "ok".
Today I am driving it like I would drive my own coupe in my regular commute (semi-spirited). This is where this platform shines. The balance between ride and handling far exceeds the previous platform in everyday driving situations. The power delivery is awesome. There is far less body movement than in my coupe over uneven road surfaces and directional changes. The cornering is also flatter. If the Q60 RS400 excludes run-flat tires and the issue with hooking up off the line is thus fixed, it will be one heck of a drive.

I am more shocked at the fact that your loaner is a Q50 RS, especially with there being a Q50 2.0t... Did you request it? When I took my G37 in for some work they gave me a QX50. I was really hoping for 3.7 Q50, but I didn't know if I could actually request what I got for a loaner.

This dealership here and I have a good rapport.
I actually have it for the whole weekend as they are waiting on a part for my car.
If I am them, I would not loan an RS out to just anyone as it requires premium gas (the others can "get away" with less but with this turbo setup one really should do premium only to prevent knocking) and you should really know what you're doing before stepping on the gas in this thing.
Most folks wont treat it as well as I do and will fill it up with cheap gas. I treat their loaners like I would treat my own car. They know that.
