Just saying. Most every here believes the car is quick, but not that quick.

the slowest 0-60 M4 time is 4.0 sec according to this website: BMW 0-60 Times & BMW Quarter Mile Times | BMW M6, X5, i3, M3, M1 & Z4 0 to 60 stats!
i'm assuming those are stock times, a 520 HP modded one should get much better than 4.2 sec 0-60

yea but the M4 isnt gaining weight at the same time its gaining Horse Power. A Hellcat is stock heavy, it would need more power to carry that weight to a comparable time, or reduce its stock weight.
Hellcat-------4,449 lbs
2015 BMW M4 Convertible-------4,055 lbs (This is the M4 with the 4.0 sec 0-60 time and it's significantly lighter than the Hellcat, by 394 lbs)

Went to the grand opening of an Infiniti dealer near me last night as they were supposed to have a black and a white one. White one sold, still had the black one. My wife really liked the car and said I should trade mine in, LOL. But it got LOTS of attention and I think it'll sell well based on what I saw.
They're not expecting a single RS til after the 1st of the year and he wasn't sure what else they'd be getting in as he didn't know what'd been ordered off hand. My second opinion visually, is the same as the first, I like it more than the current car. This one had more packages including the driver's assistance package so it had that HUGE emblem. And yeah, it's big and ugly. Other than that, the car looks great.
And looks like we're adding another car to the family. A QX70 Sport caught my wife's eye, specifically the 21" blacked out wheels, so that''ll be coming home with us in a day or two. I'd push her to a Q50RS but she wants an SUV. Happy wife, happy life.
May test drive the Q60 today if I have time.

Because you are saying that wheel spin due to less traction artificially improves the 0-60 time. Adding 520HP should causing more propensity for wheel spin and hence artificially improve 0-60 time. Not make it worse, ie become slower by going from stock 4.0 sec to 4.2 seconds.
If the M4 does have LSD, and no weight was added to the car, 520HP should be put down well enough so that its 0-60 time should be faster over stock, but may not be as fast as if 0-60 time were artificially decreased due to wheel spin.
All in all, if that Q50 Red Sport had an LSD on it, its 0-60 should be in the low to mid 4.0's and not as fast as 3.5 seconds that the guy measured. And someone needs to do a 0-60 with an AWD model because it actually has proper traction control.

Does the M4 not have an LSD as well? Because with 520 HP over stock 425 to 444 HP, shouldn't it be getting better than 4.2 sec or stock 4.0 sec 0-60 times?

Car and Driver tested the Dinan Stage 1 M4 (530hp \ 504 lbs torque)

Zero to 100 mph: 8.3 sec
Zero to 130 mph: 14.0 sec
Zero to 160 mph: 24.9 sec
Rolling start, 5-60 mph: 4.1 sec
Top gear, 30-50 mph: 2.1 sec
Top gear, 50-70 mph: 2.6 sec
Standing ¼-mile: 12.0 sec @ 122 mph
Top speed (governor limited): 163 mph
Braking, 70-0 mph: 157 ft
Roadholding, 300-ft-dia
skidpad: 0.97 g
Curb weight: 3634 lb (About 200lbs lighter than the Q60 RWD, and 400lbs lighter than the AWD.)
Very impressive trap speed on the quarter.
(For those curious, Stage 1 package is $2200 roughly for just the software, if you want to do the exhaust (Their exhaust isn't all that great honestly) and carbon fiber cold air intake you can get the Signature package for $6700. Nice part about Dinan is the warranty and 50 state legal).

You're missing my point. All other things being equal, if you simply add hp and don't address the traction issue, a large jump in hp won't necessarily translate into a large jump in 0-60 times. Highway? Sure, you'll see a nice boost in acceleration as well as a higher trap speed in the 1/4 mile. But anything from a standstill is going through the stock rubber/diff/whatever and no changes in those areas will result in more wheelspin and slower acceleration times than one would expect from a healthy hp jump.
The Car and Driver article just posted drives this point home. They couldn't verify the claims made by Dinan and the car came equipped with better rubber to boot. It was pretty much the same as the stock car in terms of acceleration.

Appreciate the vids. I've actually had my car right next to the new Q60 and it's interesting to see them in the flesh and compare. Makes my car look dated inside and out!
here's a decent comparison video with the previous model, they're both white so it should be easier to see the lines of both cars side by side. This one has the mandatory front badge as well.

Weird, for some reason I was thinking the Q50 was in the 3950 range. Should have double checked that number.

car is way out of price range compared to the Q60. 77K starting and fully optioned out at 98K..it's in a different league. I like that its 400 lbs lighter than the AWD RS 400 coupe, but the Q60 is still offering the best bang for your buck in terms of performance, the quarter miles are a second apart even though this car has 130 more HP plus being 400 lbs lighter. Aftermarket tuning, and weight changes to the Q60 should make that M4 Dinan start feeling insecure.
