Here is a short video clip of the Q50 RS400 with sport accessory muffler at idle
The video sound quality is just ok (will sound best with some headphones/ earbuds)... But in person it sounded good at idle. And while driving it gave it a deeper tone and you could here the "burble"/ back suction when you let off the gas out of full throttle. Still not a prominent as the 3.7 liter VQ however.
On a similar note, there has to be a way to turn off the simulated engine noise from the speakers. It sounds horrid- like an 80s video game.

Driving impressions of the coupe:
Its not a G. Its its own thing. I realized right away you cannot fully compare it to a G Apples to Apples. The G holds its own at what it does best and the Q60 does likewise.
The Q60 3.0T felt like it accelerated as quickly at the G37. The speedo climbed quickly. There was no turbo lag. the transmission was very smooth with its upshift- smoother than the G37.
The DAS was MUCH MUCH MUCH MUCH MUCH better than the previous generation. Although I still prefer the G37s hydraulic steering as you lose road feel with DAS. You cannot tell what the front tires are doing. However it is nicely weighted in the coupe.
The ride quality was much improved cornering "felt" flatter than the G37 S in stock form and this was a non-sport.
The car is just more poised, more gentlemanly. The G is scrappier it twitches and sways its way over road irregularities. The Q60 just glided over them. For that reason, the G feels sportier than the 3.0T that I drove.
Then I drove the Q50 RS400. That was a completely different animal from the Coupe 3.0T You could feel the road more, it was poised but had less manners. If you floor it, from any speed below 40 MPH, you spin tires. I feel that if they could figure out how to get more grip, the 0-60 would probably improve another 1/2 second. From a standing start the acceleration is tremendous vs the G once it gets grip.
Steering was quick (I was in sport mode). Cornering felt about the same as the coupe even though it was an RS400 and the coupe was not. The active trace seems to make up for the lack of LSD in normal driving situations but it just feels different than LSD.. hard to explain its just different- but when I pushed it closer to its limits I still did not get much inside wheel spin and I was trying to induce it.
So after I drove both I was expecting to get in my G and it feel dated. It did not. My G felt better in many ways than the Q50/60. Perhaps its my mods. But I did not get the gotta have a Q feeling that I got after driving the G35 when it came out or the G37 when it was released. The Qs are still very good cars. I will have to see how the Q60 RS400 feels before I can make a final judgment. But I got a feeling that they will have to release an IPL before I am fully moved.

Kaboom a lot of it was probably that dinamic digital suspension and the wider tires on the RS.

I liked the road feel of the RS and the chassis felt good overall. I wonder how the electric steering feels vs the DAS.
Its just a different car from the G. I was just thinking I may need a second test drive with that truly in mind. I think if buyers approach it from that perspective people will get what the Q cars are trying to communicate.
If one looks at it as an evolution of the G they wont get it. So for us G owners who are considering it, I would say dont expect just an updated G but a completely different car.

You are probably right. I didn't really play with the settings too much.

Personally I won't get DAS yet because of the extra hardware. Still up in the air on how much you suspension work you can do and even engine work. No one knows yet just how low you can drop it or the clearance if the engine bay with the DAS. But im looking at the long term. Also another reason I want to wait until next spring to order my coupe. Just want to see what all can be done and on what works with what and what doesn't. If I can get bags on DAS and still squeeze more power out of the engine with our interference I'm all in for DAS as I tend to keep my cars a long time. Don't mind spending more if I can stretch the dollar with long term ownership.

Not much. Most people (not me) dont buy coupes anymore. they want the 4 door. Im surprised they even made a new coupe. I always have a coupe along with the family cars. The Genesis coupe was just cancelled due to lack of sales.

I was in for my free maintenance and they had a loaded AWD 400 horse sedan for $65,000 sticker. No thanks. It had add on chrome rims they wanted $4k extra for. Too much $. Again that is the list price.

Hyundai Genesis Coupe Discontinued - Rear-Drive Hyundai is Dead
"A new, more sophisticated and luxurious coupe appropriate for the new Genesis brand is currently under development," a Hyundai spokesperson told The Truth About Cars. A BMW M4-rivaling luxury coupe tuned by Hyundai's "N" performance division is said to be in the works, but it's unclear if this is the Genesis Coupe replacement alluded to.

So what you have to do is use the part number to the 3.7 sport muffler. The exhaust on the 3.0t is the same as the 3.7 from the cat back. If I remember right the ones that are coming our have a different internal muffler baffle design that is better suited for the turbo engines over NA.
