It seems they thought since 400hp with lots of low end torque is sufficient (and it is more than sufficient for everyday use but still) they can get away without weight reduction or putting the power down properly.

I don't know it seems to me they don't know what they are doing. They are trying to do everything but not doing anything best.

I can see that they tried to cut weight for example the trunk is made out if composite. But your right. They need to just tighten down on one thing, make it great, and move on to the next part.

I'm kind of happy they're 19" instead of 20" on the Red Sport. Too many potholes in NYC.

And the weight coming in 19lbs heavier than the Q50 Red Sport is better than I expected. I believe in the previous generations there was a bigger difference in weight between the coupe and sedan than 19lbs...

this.

scared about coupe Red Sport pricing - i spec'd out an AWD 300hp model to how i liked it (WITHOUT the DAS and Technology package), and it came to like $54k.

i'm guessing the AWD Red Sport will be over $60k ... not that i'd buy a new one anyway.

Well someone is going to have to buy it new so someone can buy it used. Whoever buys it new is going to have to save up. 60k, dang.

Might as well start. Here's penny number 1, penny number 2, number 3, number 4...

I read that too...although the carbon buildup issue can be solved with a filtered catch can on the Audi's, it's good to know we won't even have to do that on the Infiniti. I think it uses a standard direct injection system (sprays in the combustion chamber) but there's an additional injector upstream before the air reaches the valves.

I posted a link to a partial one two days ago. Scroll back.

If you have a subscription to Car & Driver, they likely have a full review and go beyond talking about the DAS. They just don't want to give it all away for free on the internet (good move). I'm sure they too have bills to pay and mouths to feed too.

I just went and saw my first Q60 3.0t premium in the flesh at the local dealer. The design is definitely very striking from a purely appearance point of view. Exhaust sounds weak, headlights look gorgeous. Manager said he had a White Red Sport/Red interior coming next month and would let me know when it is in so I can have a look. This is all dealer info so take it FWIW but he said the following things:

- RS has 20in wheels (but the spec sheet linked above didn't list it so either he is wrong or there are some accessory wheels not listed)
- Sports models will have sport seats which are more aggressively bolstered than non-sport, a slightly different front fascia, BBK, paddle shifters, aluminium pedals
- There was a carbon fiber package ($1800) that replaces the the chrome fender vents, chrome trim around the fogs, the mirror housing, and the optional spoiler with CF parts and a midnight grille option. (I guess you can also get that CF spoiler by itself based on the spec sheet)
- Incorrectly stated that no difference in suspensions for Sport vs non-sport (DDS is standard on sport)

Just left training, these points are wrong.

Red Sports went into production last week, Nov delivery.

Bumpers are the same.

20inch wheels not coming to US.

Sports seats have thigh bolstering on drivers seat.

He did think that the RS would be 4k or so more than the Comparable sedan but not soild.

Is it just the US that is not getting the 20's? If so do you know why and which countries will be getting them?

Given this, we're looking at 56k for a RWD red sport with leather, navi, remote start, and heated seats/steering wheel. All the other options are the safety features or DAS which I'd assume many on here wouldn't bother with. For reference, a comparably equipped 440i RWD comes in around 58k

I dont think so. The AWD RS400 Q50 is right at 50k so I would expect 54k range for an AWD coupe. Add Premium plus and keep it around 55k-56k and Im in for AWD

The cheapest you can get a RWD Q50 Red Sport with premium plus is $51,545. $905 destination and the $440 illuminated kick plates are required with the premium plus that bring you to that cost. That's with a base color, no other accessories. That extra $1345 is why we are coming up with different numbers.
