Someone posted a video of the exhaust note from the q50.. He mentioned that it sounds different in person though.. I'm sure they'll tweak it in the q60.

For us, the occasion stepping on it to get that rush, a few tenths won't matter. I think the increased torque will have the greatest impact. I do realize 1/4 mile is a better measurement but again, in real life DD I think the 0-60 is more applicable.

Hypothetically if you happen to be out and about and are at a stop light and you get the urge to punch it and you are unaware the car next to you decides to do the same thing, in most cases you won't have a 1/4 mile to drive this way ..... hypothetically of course.

By now many members are probably, "will he shut-up already" so I will, last post on the discussion, thanks all for participating.
That's where I'm confused, so if there's a 300hp option for a Q60 and a 400hp option for the Q60, why go with the more expensive option, 400hp that will be tuned for increasing speeds such as 0-60, 1/4 mile and spirited driving. You would think the average Joe would go with the 300hp and save 15k and still have a pretty fast car. Say the 300hp is a 5 sec car and 400hp is a 4.6 car? Would you buy for that extra 4 tenths ?

I'd have to assume someone who purchase a car with an extra hp option in fact does care about speed.

I for one would love to see what the engine can do, I'm pretty excited for it. If I like it I might buy it for my daily driver.

Cool, it's hard to rate it since he says it sounds different in person than what was recorded. At least its louder than the current Q50. The sound in cabin is music to my ears.

6,500 RPM redline, automatic transmission, and a tachometer that goes all the way up to 9,000 RPM. The dashboard must be confused, it's not an F20C under the hood. Seems a little bit like buying a box of Magnums when you just need the average size; while it might impress lookers-on, we both know that's not really what's gonna happen. There's no way it will ever, ever touch 9,000 or even 8,500 without shooting SEVERAL rods through the hood.

maybe you should look at something from Infiniti's luxury brand, Nissan.

Nissan Versa probably gets cooled seats.

I'm surprised that no one is talking about the feature in the 400hp model that allows the turbos to spin faster in "high performance driving". Surely this feature adds to the standard power figures of 400hp/350lb-tq. How much more is the mystery.

Think your talking about the optical turbo speed sensor! There is a lot of awesome new tech in the car and the engine, so I am expecting it to be a pretty stellar performer! They put a lot of work into this new engine and it should be a great successor to the VQ that it is replacing. It seems to be very tuneable and a great car right from the factory, can't really beat that!

Ha, it's a shame but they know it'll sell with or without it.

Just a thought but maybe they don't want to add every feature from the Q70 in the Q50/Q60 with the logic if you can get features you want from the lower cost model, why buy the Q70?

I have to admit, cooled seats are very nice ... makes you feel like you pee'd your pants though. Another real nice option is the heated steering wheel.

The Q60 should have remote start considering the 2016 Q50 does:

New for Q50 in 2016 is the feature-rich Premium Plus Package, available on all engine options and including: auto dimming exterior mirrors; electric memory exterior mirrors; electrically adjustable steering wheel with memory and easy entry functions; Infiniti InTouch with navigation and one year of InTouch services; navigation-synchronized adaptive shift control; SiriusXM® Traffic; voice recognition; 60/40 split-fold rear seat with center armrest; electric lumbar support and position memory for the driver’s seat; heated steering wheel and heated front seats. For 3.0-liter Sport models, the Premium Plus Package also adds remote engine start.

Q50 16 has remote start. It was hit or miss but Ima label that as a pre production issue. Q60 should have it too.
